A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues its 2014-2015 REVOLUTIONary season with The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which opens tonight, September 27 and runs through Saturday, November 22, 2014. Directed by five-time L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winner Michael Michetti, this is the second production of The Importance of Being Earnest for A Noise Within, which mounted the play originally in their 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, presents Moliere's classic comedy The School for Wives, translated into English verse by Richard Wilbur and directed by Mark Wing-Davey. Just in from the NY Daily News, Joan Rivers is being brought out of the medically induced coma that she has been in since Thursday. The paper reports that the process could take until Tuesday, and that the full extent of whether or not Rivers has suffered a loss of cognitive or physical function is not yet known.

Reports this weekend have confirmed that there has been no progress for Joan Rivers, who is said to still be in a medically induced coma and fully dependent on life support machines. While Mt. Sinai hospital has not issued any updates on the legendary comedian's status, daughter Melissa did issue a Sunday statement that 'Thank you for your continued love and support. TMZ reports that comedian Joan Rivers is currently on life support. Sources close to the star say that her life is completely dependent on machines at the moment, and in a few days, her family will be faced with the decision of whether or not to keep her on the life support. We are sad to report the news that Joan Rivers died at 1:17pm this afternoon, at 81 years old. Rivers was undergoing a procedure on her vocal cords last Thursday, during which she stopped breathing. She was quickly rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York City, where she was admitted in critical condition, and later upgraded to stable as she was put into a medically induced coma and put on life support.

The Old Globe presents its third production of the 2014 Summer Season, Ronald Harwood's comedy Quartet, directed by Richard Seer (Other Desert Cities, God of Carnage, The Last Romance). Harwood received an Academy Award for his screenplay of The Pianist and was nominated for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and The Dresser (also a hit on Broadway and the West End). According to Out.com, Joan Rivers is heading back to Broadway! Michael Musto writes that the funny lady will revive the 1994 play that she wrote and starred in- Sally Marr...and Her Escorts. The play will get a reading at Washington D.C.'s National Theatre this fall, with plans to move to Broadway after.
