World-renowned classical pianist Lillie Gardner is devoting her 2017-2018 concert season to Amy Beach, who was born 150 years ago, in 1867. Partnering with Aleathea's Restaurant and The Bedford Inn, East Lynne Theater Company is proud to bring Dr. Gardner to Cape May for a one-night-only performance of 'An Evening with Amy Beach.' This exceptional musical event is the first of a two-part series, 'Musical Soirees at the Hotels,' and will be on Monday, June 4 at Aleathea's Restaurant at The Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean Street.

New England Conservatory (NEC) is presenting Boston Strong Music, a student-led concert to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing facilitated by NEC faculty Thomas Handel and Charles Peltz. The concert will take place at the Church of the Covenant Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m., the day before this year's Boston Marathon, and will feature an address by Reverend Liz Walker.

Daniele Rustioni leads the Opéra National de Lyon's 2018 Festival in three operas by Giuseppe Verdi, March 16 through April 6, 2018. In celebration of Rustioni's first season at the Opéra de Lyon's principal conductor, Opéra de Lyon has dedicated its annual festival to the works of Verdi, which have played an essential role in Rustioni's career. The 2018 Festival explores themes of power, politics, corruption, and hope with three of Verdi's less-often performed operas: Macbeth, the 1867 Paris Version of Don Carlos sung in the original French, and Attila. Rustioni will conduct the Opéra de Lyon Orchestra and Chorus in all the festival performances.

Staged by Artistic Director Alex Roe at Metropolitan Playhouse, 220 E. 4th Street, New York City. This production marks, to our knowledge, the first time the play is being presented since 1892 premiere. It is worth noting that the script only exists in manuscript form and was never published.

151 years ago, on the 11th of March 1867, the monumental opera Don Carlo opened in a world premiere in Paris. Now, a new massive production takes the stage of the Israeli Opera house, conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren whose special relationship with Verdi's creations is well known, and directed by the famous and highly experienced director Giancarlo del Monaco who has directed operas in important opera houses around the world, chief among them the New York Met Opera, La Scala Theatre in Milano and the Wiener Staatsoper. Giancarlo del Monaco is also the son of the famous tenor Mario Del Monaco.
