Present Laughter, starring Academy Award- and two-time Tony Award-winner Kevin Kline in his triumphant return to Broadway, opens tonight, April 5th, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Alan Gilbert to Conduct NY Philharmonic in A CONCERT FOR UNITY With Musicians Around the World, 6/8-10

In the final subscription concerts of his tenure as Music Director, Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic joined by musicians from orchestras around the world in concerts celebrating the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders. Those invited to participate include members of orchestras from Australia, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The program, taking place Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m., will include Mahler's Symphony No. 7. Special guest artists will include cellist Yo-Yo Ma, on June 8, and trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, on June 9.

Two New Board Members Appointed to Hispanic Society Museum and Library

Chairman Philippe de Montebello announces the election of Andres A. Gil and Antonio del Valle Ruiz to the Board of Trustees of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library. The two new trustees represent the first expansion in numbers of the Board of Trustees since 1904 and they will join Board members Mariette Arguimbau Scott, William R. Harman, Francisco Lorenzo, and Miner H. Warner. "It is my pleasure to welcome these enthusiastic and deeply committed members to our Board," commented Mr. de Montebello.

Hispanic Society presents Capital Master Plan at a Legislative Breakfast

The Hon. Mark Levine, Council Member 7th District; the Hon. Ydanis Rodriguez, Council Member 10th District; and the Hon. Gale A. Brewer, Manhattan Borough President co-hosted a Legislative Breakfast and Presentation of the Capital Master Plan of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library on January 13th from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library, located at Broadway between 155th and 156th streets. Philippe de Montebello, Chairman of the Hispanic Society, made the welcoming remarks and Mitchell A. Codding, Executive Director of the Hispanic Society, introduced the elected officials. Maria Romañach Architects presented the Master Plan of the Hispanic Society.

Fulton of the Anderson & Bert Cade Fulton Foundation. Joint efforts result in the mounting of August Wilson's Tony nominated Two Trains Running directed by Sabura Rashid as its upcoming offering starting August 26th 2016. The production of 'Two Trains Running' will be featured at Fulton Park in Brooklyn on Aug. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Aug. 27 at Herbert Von King Park from 4 to 7p.m. Both performances are FREE. August in August actually began Aug. 13 with the first installation of the series 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom performed at Fulton Park in Brooklyn, produced by the Bed-Stuy Theatre Group.

Butterfly. “  When Jonathan Larson's musical “Rent” opened in 1996 to rave reviews, audiences and critics loved the homage to Puccini's “La Boehme.”
