New Titles Coming to Amazon Prime Video and Prime Video Channels July 2018

Music and dance fill the Lackland Performing Arts Center as the Centenary Stage Company announces its 2018 - 19 full season line up of events. In addition to CSC's professional theatrical productions, the 2018 - 19 season will see the return of the January Thaw Music Festival alongside a plethora of new concerts and dance performances.

The Warner Theatre welcomes BLUES TRAVELER to the Main Theatre on Sunday, October 14 at 8 pm. Tickets go on sale to Warner Members on Thursday, June 28 at 10 am and to the General Public on Friday, June 29 at 10 am.

The Warner Theatre has announced the 2018-19 Met Opera: Live in HD Season, featuring 10 Saturday matinee simulcasts in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. This year's Season is sponsored by Viron Rondo Osteria and will include 4 new productions and starry revivals featuring the world's leading artists. Yannick Nezet-Seguin has been announced as the Met's Music Director for the start of the season, conducting La Traviata and Dialogues des Carmelites. Due to a scheduling conflict, La Traviata will be shown as an encore presentation. A complimentary 45 minute pre-opera lecture will be offered in the Studio Theatre Lobby two hours before each broadcast, sponsored by Mitchell Auto Group.

Additional casting has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie on Friday, July 27, at 8 PM, Saturday, July 28, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 29, at 7:30 PM. The new cast members are David Alan Grier as Daddy Warbucks and Steven Weber as Franklin Delano Roosevelt ('FDR'). The Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education 'Performance Lab' students will present XANADU in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre June 1-3, sponsored by The Lufkin Family Foundation.

The Warner Stage Company will present Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, sponsored by Torrington Savings Bank, on the Main Stage July 28-August 5, 2018. In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. Enrollment is open until June 17 and fans can sign up for the course at musicals.tcm.com.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the opening of its 81st Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Nomad Motel by Carla Ching. The Roll kicks off at Member Theaters City Theatre Company (May 18-June 3 in Pittsburgh), followed by Horizon Theatre Company (September 28-October 21 in Atlanta), and Unicorn Theatre (January 23-February 27, 2019 in Kansas City, MO). Nomad Motel was presented at NNPN's 2016 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and The Old Vic, London are delighted to announce that John Crowley will direct the World Premiere of Local Hero, a stage adaptation of the 1983 film, co-written by David Greig and Bill Forsyth, with music and lyrics by Mark Knopfler.

Hub Theatre Company of Boston will kick off its highly anticipated sixth season with the Pulitzer Prize nominated play TRUE WEST by the late Sam Shepard, directed by Daniel Bourque, starring Bob Mussett, Victor Shopov, Robert Orzalli and Maureen Adduci. The Apricot Brandy have been playing soul music all around Northwest Connecticut since 1968.
