Free All Ages Family Day Comes to Central Park SummerStage With Disney, The Puppet Mobile, Live Music and More!

City Parks Foundation SummerStage is celebrating Family Day, sponsored by Disney, this Sunday, July 15th and will have a fun filled day of performances by Grammy winners Rebirth Brass Band, The Lady Buckjumpers of New Orleans, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, and the PuppetMobile's marionette show of "The Big Good Wolf". Disney will also have a family activity station, giveaways and performances by their Disney Theatrical group featuring special guests. The FREE Mardi Gras themed event runs from 3PM-7PM at SummerStage in Central Park and is perfect for all ages. Let me know if you would be interested in setting up coverage on the event!

Whether seen on HBO's Treme or at their legendary Tuesday night gig at The Maple Leaf, Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band is a true New Orleans institution. Formed in 1983 by the Frazier brothers, the band has evolved from playing the streets of the French Quarter to playing festivals and stages all over the world. While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they've also extended themselves into the realms of funk and hip-hop to create their Signature Sound. Crescent City mainstay, and the head of the Golden Eagle Mardi Gras Indian tribe, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. Topping it off, the PuppetMobile will be performing their adorable modern-day fairy tale "The Big Good Wolf".

The marionette show features beloved characters from classic stories "Goldilocks and The Three Bears", "The Big Bad Wolf", and "Little Red Riding Hood". Additionally, there will be a Second Line workshop from the always fabulous Lady Buckjumpers of New Orleans. Disney, the main sponsors of the event, will have a fun family activity station set up, as well as giveaways and a their Disney Theatrical group.
