The students of the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education will present the first production of this year's Young Actors Series, ELF JR., in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on November 17 and 18, 2018. The Young Actors Series is sponsored by The Lufkin Family Foundation.

The Warner Theatre and Two Roads Brewing Co. will present 'The Road to Road Jam: A Battle of Jam Bands,' in the Warner's Studio Theatre on Friday, November 2 from 7-11 pm. Tickets are $15 and you must be 21 to enter the event. Doors will open at 6 pm; a variety of Two Roads beers will be available for purchase. Five area jam bands, Cousin Fungus, Flipper Dave, The HippoCampus, Soul Case and No Mind, will compete for the first place prize. The winning band will play at the Annual Road Jam Music Festival, as well as win a cash prize, tickets for the Jam Fest, swag bags and beer.

Antaeus Theatre Company opens its 2018-19 season with an epic drama about a Southern family in crisis directed by Cameron Watson (award-winning Antaeus productions of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Picnic, Top Girls). Kristin Couture, John DeMita, Judy Louise Johnson, Mike McShane, Rob Nagle, Calvin Picou, Deborah Puette, Jocelyn Towne, Timothy Adam Venable and William L. Warren star in The Little Foxes by Lillian Hellman, opening Oct. 25 at the Kiki & David Gindler Performing Arts Center in Glendale, where performances will continue through Dec. 10. Low-priced previews begin Oct. 18.

The Experience Hendrix Tour, the critically acclaimed multi-artist celebration of Jimi Hendrix's musical genius is returning in 2019 with its biggest ever tour—30 dates through the East Coast, South and Midwest. The Warner Theatre will present its 7th Annual International Playwrights Festival held in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on October 12 and 13, 2018. The mission of the International Playwrights Festival is to recognize the work of emerging and established playwrights and to build a link between the playwrights, the theatre community and our audiences.

The public is invited to a special screening of the documentary "BUILDING A GREAT LIFE" on Thursday, October 18 at 5:30 PM in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. The event is free, but registration is required. The one-hour documentary explores how the notion of closing state institutions in favor of community living for persons with intellectual disabilities is both a moral and fiscal debate. Light refreshments will be served and a facilitated discussion will follow the meeting.

The Warner Theatre is excited to announce that the University of Hartford's Hartt School Community Division will lead a five-week FIRST STEPS IN MUSIC pilot program at the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education this fall. The program will run from October 6-November 7, 2018.

On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought together Johnny Cash (Peter Oyloe), Jerry Lee Lewis (Taylor Gray), Carl Perkins (Austin Hohnke) and Elvis Presley (Daniel Durston). Sam Phillips (Andy Ingalls), the undisputed "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" gathered these four legends for the first and only time at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions ever.
