Greenville Theatre's Executive Artistic Director Allen McCalla announced the theatre's name modification from GREENVILLE LITTLE THEATRE to GREENVILLE THEATRE on Saturday, January 19. This exciting announcement preceded the unveiling of the theatre's sensational 2019-2020 season. The line-up features 6 MainStage productions, including an impressive four musicals and two comedies. In addition to the MainStage productions, Greenville Theatre will produce two musicals in the cherished Theatre for Young Audiences Series, and will present three tribute shows in the popular Concert Series. A high energy line-up full of blockbusters sure to entertain all season long.

Annenberg Center Live And NextMove Dance Present The Martha Graham Dance Company in the EVE Project, Friday, January 25 (8 PM) and Saturday, January 26 (2 PM and 7 PM). The EVE Project commemorates the upcoming centennial of the 19th Amendment (which extended the right to vote to American women) with works by all female choreographers, staying true to Graham's tradition of social activism. The program features the Philadelphia premiere of Graham's powerful Chronicle; the first preview performance of Deo, a new work by celebrated choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith, Graham's Diversion of Angels, and Ekstasis by Graham, reimagined by Virginie Mecene. Irish Repertory Theatre is excited to announce The Sean O'Casey Season, a comprehensive retrospective of the work of renowned Irish playwright Sean O'Casey, to take place from January through May of Irish Rep's 30th Anniversary Season.

James Greene, a character actor with an illustrious stage career, but perhaps best known for his four-year stint on TV's 'The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd' with writer and director Jay Tarses, died on November 9, 2018, at his home in Los Angeles. He was 91.

Gabrielle Lee will play Bricktop in Greenbrier Valley Theatre's World Premiere of Ada 'Bricktop' Smith -Legend of the Jazz Age, a one-woman play with music that celebrates and chronicles the life of Ada 'Bricktop' Smith; written by Cathey Sawyer and musical direction by Kermit Medsker. Born in Alderson, West Virginia, Bricktop a singer and dancer, rose to fame as a nightclub owner during the Jazz Age. She opened Chez Bricktop's in Paris in 1926, and eventually became the darling of Paris nightlife and nicknamed the 'Doyenne of Cafe Society.'

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre has received a full facelift of its 2,691-seat auditorium. The first major renovation for the Palace since 1984, the six-month, main-hall makeover included the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the main floor, full refurbishment of balcony seats, and installation of a new LED house lighting system in the dome and main chandelier. The first public performance in the fully renovated auditorium will be Grammy-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan on Friday, November 2.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).
