Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre continues its season devoted to The Power of Words with the southeast Michigan premier of reasons to be pretty by Detroit's own Neil LaBute. The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham will present their second special bonus offering of their 2013 season, the world premiere production of a new musical play, ROCKSTAR, featuring the music of Franz Liszt and others, written and performed by Hershey Felder and directed by Trevor Hay.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere comedy The Few by award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale). Directed by Davis McCallum, The Few will run Sept. 28 - Oct. 27, 2013 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Sept. 28 - Oct. 2. Amphibian Stage Productions today announced casting for its final main stage production of the 2013 season, Death Tax by Lucas Hnath. Georgia Clinton, Stormi Demerson, John Forkner, and Laurel Whitsett will star in this dark comedy, running Thursday, October 17 through Sunday, November 10 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Rene Moreno will direct the production.

Wolves turns a familiar tale on its head with a gritty, urban retelling of Little Red Riding Hood that explores the conflation of sex and fear in modern culture.

Taking a cue from last season's artistically (and commercially!) successful 'Season of Family', the 2013/2014 Ringwald season also adheres to a theme: the power of words.

In keeping with their 'Summer Camp' theme, The Ringwald is pleased as punch to present the mother of all campy comedies, Mommie Queerest by Jamie Morris, the author of another Summer Camp extravaganza, The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode, which played The Ringwald twice: last summer and the summer of 2010.

'A Parallelogram,' the riveting new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner Bruce Norris, is directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum. 'A Parallelogram' will be presented at the Taper, tonight, July 10 through August 18, 2013. The opening is scheduled for July 21.

Profiles Theatre announces an extended run for the World Premiere of Resident Artist Neil LaBute's revised stage version of In the Company of Men, now playing at The Main Stage, 4139 N. Broadway. Directed by Profiles Resident Artist and Steppenwolf ensemble member Rick Snyder, In the Company of Men opened May 16 to critical acclaim and has been extended for another four weeks through July 28, 2013.
