Monchhichi, the 2017 original CGI-animated series co-produced by Paris-based Technicolor Animation Productions and TF1 in collaboration with Sekiguchi based on the iconic lovable plush, will have its U.S. premiere on the Boomerang premium subscription streaming service. In Skintight, Jodi Isaac's son Benjamin is in the midst of a semester abroad in Hungary, where he's been exploring his family's roots as Eastern European Jews. Now self-identified Americans, the Isaac family has been living in the United States for nearly 100 years, and memories of Jodi's grandparents' lives in Hungary are distant ones. But Jewish experiences of the Holocaust in Hungary in the 1930s and 1940s loom large in the history of any family of Hungarian Jewish descent.

Kent Tritle is Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the largest cathedral in the world; Music Director of the Oratorio Society of New York, the acclaimed 200-voice volunteer chorus; and Music Director of Musica Sacra, New York's longest continuously performing professional chorus. The 2018-19 season of “New York's choral conducting superstar” (Time Out New York) is marked by the expansion of the Oratorio Society's Carnegie Hall season from three to four concerts, which will include Kullervo, the rarely-performed symphonic poem by Sibelius, Szymanowski's Stabat Mater, and Verdi's Requiem.

On Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Severance Hall, America's preeminent performing arts television series Great Performances in association with ideastream will record The Cleveland Orchestra's 100th Anniversary Gala Concert for an exclusive U.S. television broadcast on PBS slated for 2019. The broadcast is a co-production of The Cleveland Orchestra, ideastream, and THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET.

CAMA Unveils Centennial Season Program

Community Arts Music Association of Santa Barbara (CAMA), the city's oldest arts organization, will present 12 concerts featuring some of the world's finest instrumentalists as part of its highly anticipated centennial season in 2018-2019. Highlights of CAMA's International Series at The Granada Theatre will include appearances by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, violinist extraordinaire Itzhak Perlman, and the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen, among others. The organization's Masterseries at The Lobero Theatre will include performances by celebrated pianists Richard Goode and Garrick Ohlsson, Grammy-winning violinist Augustin Hadelich, cello master Mischa Maisky, and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. New York Theatre Ballet Announces Program Change

The NYTB REP program with a World Premiere by Richard Alston has now added encore performances of three of Jerome Robbins' rarely seen ballets: Septet, Concertino and Rondo, recently performed in sold-out shows in The Harkness Dance Festival 2018 at 92Y. PDFUHM's Department of Theatre and Dance presents legendary filmmaker and director Ingmar Bergman's Nora during the centennial year of his birth. Bergman, born July 14, 1918, is globally known for his work in the film industry directing, writing, and producing over sixty films over the course of forty years including The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and Fanny and Alexander. In addition to his career in film, Bergman also worked in theatre directing 170 plays and writing and adapting plays for the stage like Nora.

New York City Ballet Announces 2018/2019 Season; Tribute To Jerome Robbins And More!

New York City Ballet's 2018 Spring Season opens on Tuesday, April 24 and will continue for six weeks through June 3. The centerpiece of the Spring Season will be Robbins 100, a celebration of Jerome Robbins, NYCB's co-founding choreographer, whose remarkable contributions to the worlds of ballet and Broadway musical theater have made an indelible impression on both art forms. The three-week celebration will run from May 3 to May 20, featuring 20 works created by Robbins over the course of 40years, as well as two world premiere ballets in tribute to Robbins. Robbins 100 will open on Thursday, May 3 with a Spring Gala performance featuring Robbins'

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Ingmar Bergman's Birth with NORA

PDFUHM's Department of Theatre and Dance presents legendary filmmaker and director Ingmar Bergman's Nora during the centennial year of his birth.  Bergman, born July 14, 1918, is globally known for his work in the film industry directing, writing, and producing over sixty films over the course of forty years including The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and Fanny and Alexander.  In addition to his career in film, Bergman also worked in theatre directing 170 plays and writing and adapting plays for the stage like Nora.  To celebrate the centennial of his birth, film institutes around the world like Cinemateket, the Norwegian Film Institute in Oslo; the Detroit Film Theater; and the Flimhuset in Stockholm, Sweden are hosting retrospectives screening Bergman's works.  Here in Honolulu, audiences can celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth by attending Kennedy Theatre's production of Nora, a stage version of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll House by Ingmar Bergman adapted and translated by Frederick J. Marker and Lise-Lone Marker.  Nora runs April 13-22 with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22.  

National Philharmonic Announces Program for NORTHERN LIGHTS

A cappella singing and New Age music align in a fascinating concert entitled Northern Lights presented by the National Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorale on Saturday, April 28, 8pm at the Music Center at Strathmore. Philharmonic Chorale Artistic Director Stan Engebretson leads a concert juxtaposing the rich traditions of Rachmaninoff's  Vespers with new sounds by popular Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo (pronounced Yay-lo) and local wunderkind composer Alistair Coleman, currently studying at the Juilliard School. The Philharmonic will also be joined at the piano by these two contemporary composers. In addition, the concert features guests from the Montgomery College Chorus and the Strathmore Children's Chorus. A pre-concert lecture by Philharmonic Associate Director Victoria Gau begins at 6:45pm in the Concert Hall. After the concert, Mr. Gjeilo and Mr. Coleman will join Artistic Director Stan Engebretson for a Member Q&A. Tickets start at $23 and can be purchase at nationalphilharmonic.org or by calling the Strathmore Ticket Office at 301-581-5100. Kids 7-17 are free.
