Young People's Theater Announces Overnight Acting Camp Workshop, 6/27

What do Josh Young, Kait Kerrigan, Brian Lowdermilk, Marcus Stevens and Carey Brown have in common? They all grew up learning about theatre at Young People's Theatre Workshop in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. In fact, Kerrigan and Lowdermilk will be teaching a workshop on June 27th at YPTW's Theatre Arts Overnight Camp. The camp is a 5 night camp held at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. The Theatre School at DePaul University's Showcase Series of Contemporary Plays and Classics presents MAYDAY MAYDAY TUESDAY, by Carlos Murillo, and directed by Dexter Bullard. This play premieres on Friday, May 13, and runs through Sunday, May 22, 2011, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on May 12 and 13 at 7:30 PM.

Aurora Theatre Company Announces Collaboration With Arion Press

Aurora Theatre Company announced today that Arion Press in San Francisco will print a limited edition handcrafted book of renowned American playwright Edward Albee's script for A DELICATE BALANCE; the book printing will coincide with Aurora Theatre Company's production of the play.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) announced that Norm Lewis, Audra McDonald, and David Alan Grier are joining the A.R.T. to play Porgy, Bess, and Sportin' Life in the A.R.T.'s new production of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. Performances will begin August 17at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Following the opening of Terence Rattigan's Flare Path, the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company today (1 April 2011) announce a further two productions to be directed by Trevor Nunn in his role as Artistic Director. After a three week run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Nunn's production of Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead comes to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in June, followed in September by William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Further productions in the season will be announced shortly.
