Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for The Color Purple, directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle. Cast members from the 2015 Broadway revival lead the Paper Mill Playhouse company, including Adrianna Hicks (Aladdin, Sister Act - Germany) as Celie, Carla R. In its largest international scale production to date, FX has ordered Shogun, a 10-episode limited series period drama based on Shogun, the best-selling novel by James Clavell, it was announced today by John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions.

Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.

Kicking off with two shows in September, Artists Rep's 2018/19 season features seven compelling contemporary plays in their subscription series, plus two bonus shows. These plays are highly entertaining theatrical experiences, written by some of the nation's most acclaimed playwrights.

The Old Globe today announced the complete company and creative team for the Pam Farr Summer Shakespeare Studio, named for the Globe Board member whose generosity supports a four-week program for rising 9th - 12th grade students and recent high school graduates to develop foundational skills for reading, interpreting, and performing Shakespeare's plays, and to cultivate their own artistic voice through storytelling and creating original material.

The Donmar Warehouse presents St Nicholas, a chilling one-man play by Conor McPherson, directed by Simon Evans and starring Brendan Coyle. This is the first time McPherson and Coyle have collaborated since The Weir, for which both received Olivier Awards. The performances will take place at the Donmar's intimate studio space at 3 Dryden Street from Monday 10 September - Friday 5 October 2018, and from Tuesday 9 October - Sunday 14 October 2018 at the Smock Alley Theatre, as part of Dublin Theatre Festival, which will be the play's Irish premiere. ANNIE, this year's Hollywood Bowl Summer Musical, will be performed by an all-star cast July 27, 28 and 29. Each year, a condensed version of a full-length Broadway musical corrals name performers from theatre, television and music with crazy, busy schedules that normally wouldn't be available for a full musical schedule commitment. We have the opportunity to chat with Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, who will be playing Grace Farrell in this production.
