Continuing the 2022 season, City Theatre Austin has announced the full-production stage presentation of Edward Albee's award-winning play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Described as “an extraordinarily brilliant play,” this riveting, revealing, biting, and almost shattering examination of marriage and family is one of the most successful plays in modern American theatre and all too rarely produced in Austin.  

New York City Opera will present Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's thrilling double bill, The Seven Deadly Sins & Mahagonny Songspiel, for the first time ever told as one story, a tragic fable for today.

 In honor of Women’s History Month, BroadwayHD is celebrating some of Broadway’s iconic female characters with new titles coming to the platform including Yentl from Yentl, Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Tracy from Hairspray Live!.

Hairspray The Musical is based in 1962 Baltimore, the show answers the question, “Can a big girl with big hair and even bigger dreams, dance her way into changing the world?”

Music Director Leon Botstein will lead the American Symphony Orchestra on March 24 in a tribute to the genre-defying genius of the great Duke Ellington with an all-Ellington symphonic concert at Carnegie Hall, where the composer played a series of annual concerts and premiered many of his greatest works, including Black, Brown, and Beige and New World A-Comin'.

Original Theatre Company has announced Miss Marple’s return to the stage in a brand new production of Rachel Wagstaff’s acclaimed adaptation of Agatha Christie’s THE MIRROR CRACK’D. The production, directed by Philip Franks, will begin its UK Tour at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne on 8 September 2022.

Featuring classic songs such as Till There Was You, Gary Indiana, Lida Rose, Goodnight My Someone, Pick-A-Little, Talk-A-Little, Shipoopi and Seventy Six Trombones, the show is an All-American salute to music, romance and fast-talking flim flam.

City Theatre Austin presents a special one-weekend performance event honoring Stephen Sondheim - the giant, the genius, who revolutionized musical theatre as its most influential writer and composer.

Ellen’s Stardust Diner will honor the late Broadway legend, composer Stephen Sondheim, with Monday in the Diner with Sondheim on January 24th, from 7-11pm.

The historic Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville, Tenn. will induct country legend Bobby Bare. Bare’s star will be revealed on the walkway at Music City Walk of Fame Park located in SoBro amongst fellow inductees Dierks Bentley, Keb’ Mo’ and Connie Smith. The park is located directly across from the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Midnight Company announced its 25th Anniversary Season with their lineup of productions for their 2022 landmark silver anniversary year. The season will open with ANOMALOUS EXPERIENCE by the Company’s Artistic Director, Joe Hanrahan, running May 5-21 at the Kranzberg Black Box Theatre. Midnight’s second show of the season will be RODNEY’S WIFE by Richard Nelson and is directed by Joe Hanrahan. The show runs July 7-23 at The Chapel. The final show of the season will be ST. LOUIS WOMAN, written and directed by Joe Hanrahan, running October 6-22 at the .ZACK.

The acclaimed vocalist Mafalda Minnozzi's latest record Cinema City - Jazz Scenes from Italian Film intimately unveils a new side of the artist as she explores the Italian cinematic songbook. Jazz music has long taken cues from the silver screen.
