The Public Theater has announced additional casting today for the 50th Anniversary season of free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte. David Furr (Orlando) and Stephen Spinella (Jaques) join the previously announced MacIntyre Dixon (Adam), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Celia), Omar Metwally (Oliver), and Lily Rabe (Rosalind) in Shakespeare's comedy AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

Playwrights Theatre will present two programs during the New Jersey Theatre Alliance Stages Festival. The Stages Festival is a month-long, state-wide celebration of theatre and the performing arts - a project of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and its membership.

The subject of a PBS documentary-and a stunning video, Stand By Me- Playing For Change Band is an assembly of street musicians. Originally gathered together by Producer Mark Johnson as a project for world peace, it is now a traveling ensemble that offers a delivery of blues, gospel, reggae, and Afropop.

Somewhere Safer marks the first piece to go through the company's Square One Writing Series dedicated to providing artists a place to create and develop new work.

Director Joe Dowling today announced the three plays that will comprise the Guthrie's 2012 celebration of prolific British playwright, screenwriter and director Christopher Hampton. A Guthrie commission of Appomattox, a new play based upon Hampton's original 2007 opera collaboration with composer Philip Glass, will be joined by Tales from Hollywood and Total Eclipse.
