The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Subway Cinema announce the 17th edition of the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), June 29 – July 15, 2018.

Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell is going full out these days. Not only is he directing and choreographing the original musical, Half Time, at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, but he's also about to begin rehearsals as the director and choreographer for Broadway's Pretty Woman.

The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams' much loved, absurdist and subversive satire, is presented in a vibrant, fast paced, gender-bending production directed by Madeleine Dahm, from Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17, 2018, including a Science Fiction Costume Night on June 16, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in the Lovelace Studio Theater. After its first appearance as a radio play originally produced by BBC 4 Radio in 1978, Adams' work quickly became a worldwide cult classic celebrated for its sharp wit and ironic style. Dahm's version at The Wallis integrates puppetry, stylized movement, miniature sets and live music to bring the timely political satire to life.

Defunkt Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director), an award-winning company presenting Shakespeare alongside other classic and contemporary drama at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, Downtown Brooklyn, is pleased to announce its 2018-19 season-the 39th since its founding in 1979.

Sundance Institute's Theatre Lab kicks off on May 6th, and today announced this year's participating acting company and creative advisors. The Lab, which runs through May 27 at the Fellah Hotel outside Marrakech, Morocco, is supervised by Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, and is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community, alternating locations between Sundance Resort in Utah and a venue in the Middle East/North African region, as part of a multi-year commitment to international work and a means of facilitating cultural exchange between artists writing in English and Arabic.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2018, which opens on June 9 and continues for two weeks through June23 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Double Tony and Grammy Award winner Patti LuPone has proven time and time again that she is willing to speak her mind about anything -- and this week is no different. At the launch of the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company, LuPone addressed a variety of topics with honesty.

As previously announced, Patti LuPone will guest star in upcoming episode of MOM on CBS. LuPone will play Rita, the new owner of the building that is managed by Bonnie (Allison Janney). Rita is a bit of a live wire: Freshly divorced, she's either barking orders or sharing way too much about her personal life. The episode is set to air Thursday, April 26 (9:01-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center is happy to announce the full line-up of its annual PEN World Voices International Play Festival. As part of the 2018 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, the International Play Festival will showcase play readings by ten voices from around the globe. Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the full cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's tragicomedy The Winter's Tale, directed by OBIE Award-winner Arin Arbus. The production plays March 13-April 15, 2018, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place), TFANA's home in the Brooklyn Cultural District.

Afterwords, a contemporary musical currently in development, will begin its Beta Series production at Village Theatre's First Stage Theatre in Issaquah on February 16, 2018. While current Broadway productions cater to mostly male heteronormative story lines and production teams, Afterwords aims to change that by featuring a story focused on three strong and unique queer women, and led by a female creative team with a book by Emily Kaczmarek, music & lyrics by Zoe Sarnak, and direction by Adrienne Campbell-Holt.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is proud to present the world premiere of Lost Laughs: The Slapstick Tragedy of Fatty Arbuckle, written by Andy Bayiates and Aaron Muñoz, directed by Nathan Keepers, with performances February 14 - March 11, 2018, at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre located at 50 East Merrimack Street in historic downtown Lowell.
