Candoco Dance Company, the acclaimed contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, is twisting perceptions of what dance is, who can dance and who enjoys it in Playing Another, an evening of two new full company works that will be touring nationally this Autumn. When Easy Star Records released Dub Side Of The Moon a decade ago, they never expected the impact that the complete reggae version of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon would have on the world. The album received a groundswell of international press, including praise from Rolling Stone, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, Vibe, and countless other media outlets, while managing to sit on the Billboard Reggae Charts for more than 7 years. On September 16, 2014 (updated release date), the leading independent reggae label will release a special anniversary edition of this classic album with new artwork, an in-depth liner note booklet and two bonus tracks, including “Breathe 2014” featuring additional vocals by Eric Rachmany of Rebelution, Metric Man, and Ruff Scott of the Easy Star All-Stars.

Mellon. SCARY MUSICAL The Musical will begin previews tonight, September 12 at 8pm; will open today, September 19 at 8pm and run for eight weeks through Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood.

Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre's 44th anniversary will culminate with a special Gala at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center (199 Chambers Street) on Sunday evening March 16th. This special event saluting NFT, for over 40 years a seminal force in Black Theater, will be hosted by Danny Glover and Debbi Morgan. Honorary Chairmen are Harry Belafonte and Hon. Mayor David N. Dinkins. The celebration will kick off at 4pm, and feature performances from Daniel Beaty, Impact Repertory Theater (Academy Award Nominee, 'Raise It Up' from the film August Rush), Chuck Jackson, and Valerie Simpson.
