ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME is the epic musical adventure starring GrooveLily's fierce and funny electro-violinist Valerie Vigoda (Striking 12), and the courageous and charismatic Wade McCollum (Priscilla Queen of the Desert). This innovative, high-tech adventure tells the story of a sleep-deprived single mom who struggles to work as a video game music composer. Unexpectedly, she is contacted across time by the famous polar explorer, Ernest Shackleton. Inspired by her music, he shares his epic Antarctic journey with her in video and song. Against all odds, they discover that their greatest inspiration lies within each other.

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continues its 12th Season when it presents its 123rd concert presentation with Shaw's curious 1908 comedy Getting Married on Monday, June 26 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

A (mostly) local team has been in the process of adapting the 2005 Minnesota-made movie SWEET LAND into a musical for years, and their hard work is finally coming to fruition when SWEET LAND, THE MUSICAL opens at the History Theatre this weekend. Irish Repertory Theatre has announced its Summer 2017 Season. On the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage will be WOODY SEZ: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF WOODY GUTHRIE, directed by Nick Corley (Kissing Jessica Stein).

Led by Music Director Thierry Fischer, the Utah Symphony embarks upon a 1,200-mile tour of Utah from August 29 to September 2, 2017, connecting with rural communities through free outdoor performances and educational activities that pay homage to the state's landscape and the country's Native American heritage. Supported by Signature Sponsor the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, this “Great American Road Trip” tour comprises three full orchestra concerts and two chamber performances at state parks and national monuments. Maestro Fischer conducts symphonic works that complement the natural beauty of Utah, as well as music by Native American composer Brent Michael Davids, who performs in his own work as a wood flute soloist. The tour's educational outreach includes in-school assemblies and pre-concert interactive presentations revolving around the role of wind in music making and the region's natural sciences, while post-concert “star parties,” hosted by local astronomy groups and park rangers, allow visitors to experience and learn about Utah's night sky. Utah Symphony's “Great American Road Trip” tour builds on the successes of the orchestra's 2014 Mighty 5® Tour and its collaboration with KUED on the 2015 Emmy Award-winning documentary National Park Symphony.

Natalie Simpson (Royal Shakespeare Company's recent productions of King Lear, Hamlet and Cymbeline) joins an eleven-strong cast to play Duchess Rosaura alongside the previously announced Stephen Boxer in THE CARDINAL at Southwark Playhouse. James Shirley's tragic masterpiece, directed by Justin Audibert, plays from 26 April - 27 May with a press performance on 28 April.

It's a safe bet that just about any 90's kid can remember re-watching Disney's Hunchback of ­Notre Dame over and over, rewinding the VHS until it was nearly worn out. In the Henegar Center's stage re-imagining of Disney's beloved tale and Victor Hugo's classic novel, there are no friendly goat sidekicks, but a plethora of that nostalgic music and imagery remains.
