Calling all TV fans, the Tribeca TV Festival is back on the big screen bringing audiences together to discover new series and be the first to see favorite new season premieres. The 2nd Tribeca TV Festival will celebrate unforgettable storytellers who have shaped what 'peak TV' is today and introduce new voices in episodic storytelling. Over four days at Spring Studios in New York City, each event will feature a conversation with the stars and creators of favorite and soon-to-be-favorite shows. Los Angeles doom boogie/dystopian punk/occult glam rockers Death Valley Girls today announce their third studio album Darkness Rains, out October 5th on LP, CD, cassette and digital formats via Suicide Squeeze. The announcement arrives with the Iggy Pop-starring video for the fierce new single “Disaster (Is What We're After)” and the announcement of a 30-date US tour this fall. Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts' Live & Local Fridays concert series opens on Sept. 7 and showcases eight Arizona groups spanning rockabilly-honky tonk, indie-folk, African rhythms, blues, hip-hop, folk-rock, jazz, indie-rock and pop on Friday evenings through Sept. 28.

Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema announced today its film lineup of 110 films and the news that Regal Entertainment Group has signed on to become the lead sponsor for the 2nd annual 10-day event in Queens. While the festival organizers are saddened to leave the Kew Gardens Cinemas in Kew Gardens, they are very excited for what this means for the future of the film festival. For it's sophomore year, Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema will be moving into its new home at Regal Entertainment Group's UA Midway Stadium 9 in Forest Hills, Queens. From August 3rd to August 11th guests can enjoy films exhibited by state of the art projection and sound equipment in the comfort of Midway's recliner seats. The Opening Night Film at the Midway will be the New York Premiere of Ari Gold's award-winning and critically acclaimed “The Song of Sway Lake” starring Rory Culkin on Friday, Aug. 3rd at 6:30pm. On Sunday, August 12th, the festival's Awards Dinner Gala returns to Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

Prog icon Steve Hackett brings his 8-date Genesis Revisited Tour to the UK in October. The Show will feature his band together with a 41-piece orchestra. The London Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Manchester Bridgewater Hall have now sold out.

Milwaukee Ballet broke ground on the new Baumgartner Center for Dance this afternoon in a formal ceremony on the site of the future two-story, 52,000 square foot facility at 132 N. Jackson St. During the ceremony, Milwaukee Ballet announced the capital campaign that is underway to create this new physical space and to provide program funds to empower the world-class artistry and operations of Milwaukee Ballet.

Producer Julian Schlossberg announces that Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor - known to millions for her role as Fran Fine's food-obsessed mother, Sylvia, on 'The Nanny' - will return to the New York stage this summer in MY LIFE ON A DIET, an autobiographical comedy written by Ms. Taylor and her late husband Joseph Bologna. Originally directed by Mr. Bologna, MY LIFE ON A DIET will have its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46 Street, between Ninth & Tenth Aves) beginning Thursday, July 12, 2018.

When discussing legendary psychedelic garage bands of the 1960s, the Chocolate Watchband is at the top of the list. The Chocolate Watchband formed in San Jose in 1965. The band's music was described as “a blend of 1960s-style garage and psychedelic rock with a distinguishable 'Rolling Stones'  San Francisco sound. Produced by Ed Cobb, the group's early music combined the influences of blues with a psychedelic edge that featured terse lyrics and  instrumental experimentation. The Chocolate Watchband appeared in the 1967 film “Riot On Sunset Strip” and the 1968 film “The Love Ins.” The band released three highly acclaimed LPs from 1967 to 1969 before disbanding in 1970. In 1999, they reunited at the San Diego event 66/99 in San Diego, CA,  organized by musician/journalist Mike Stax. They continue to play today at garage rock festivals in Europe as well as the States with Little Steven, The Yardbirds, Love, The Zombies, Bo Diddly, Iggy Pop, the Strawberry Alarm Clock and the Electric Prunes.

Presented by The Brand Associates, and Curated by Jamie Nichols with much care, these performances are all totally different from one another with each dance company or artist using different elements of the Arts, combined with several forms of Dance, molding their piece using the surroundings to inspire their theme and designing the movements to work around site-specific locations.

From May 16 to 27, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present the world premiere production of 'Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water' by Michael A Jones.  The play is winner of the troupe's 2017 Emerging Playwrights Competition.  Called a 'drama with comedy,' it is a story of displacement of Black families and the forces that lead to it in modern America.  Performances are at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place.

The renowned and recently revamped Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) will present More Sweetly Play the Dance, a video installation by the internationally-renowned South African artist William Kentridge. More Sweetly Play the Dance encircles viewers in a procession of moving images and sound, a looped spectacle-sometimes stately, sometimes raucous-that captivatingly engages themes of life, death and current events. The installation will be on view from May 19, 2018 through January 20, 2019.

THE PRICE by Arthur Miller premiered on Broadway in 1968 and was nominated for two Tony Awards, for Best Play and Best Scenic Design. It is a timeless piece regarding the choices we make and the consequences we eventually face. It is about family dynamics, the price of furniture and the price of one's decisions, taking place in a soon to be demolished family house where two brothers, estranged for decades, meet together to dispose of their late parents' property. The resulting confrontation leads them to examine the events and qualities of their very different lives and the price each of them has had to pay to have the lives they now lead.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) today proudly announced that Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, stars of television, film and stage and Sid and Marty Krofft, two legendary television producers, will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards this year during the Daytime Emmy® Awards.  The Krofft Brothers will be celebrated at the 45th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards which will take place on Friday, April 27th, 2018, while Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes will be celebrated on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at the 45th Daytime Emmy® Awards.  Both presentations will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Southern California.
