New Artistic Director of Theatr Clywd Tamara Harvey today announces her inaugural theatre season for the company.

The holiday season brings family, fun, togetherness and music! Experience all of that and more at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's annual holiday celebration, Highmark Holiday Pops, on December 11-13 and December 19 and 20 at Heinz Hall.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. Smuin Ballet returns with what has become an essential holiday tradition for Bay Area families: Smuin's annual The Christmas Ballet. With equal parts sugar and spice, offering something for both the naughty and nice, this ever-changing carousel of mischief and elegance includes something for everyone, from ballet, tap, and swing to a wealth of other dances drawn from holiday traditions from around the world. This edition of The Christmas Ballet will include new choreography from Smuin's acclaimed Choreographer-in-Residence Amy Seiwert and another exciting addition by Smuin dancer Nicole Haskins. Proclaimed 'the freshest show in town' by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Christmas Ballet will tour the Bay Area, beginning with shows in Walnut Creek (November 20-21), continuing in Carmel (December 4-5), and Mountain View (December 9-13), and finishing up with its annual holiday run at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco (December 17-27). The December events presented by Great Music at St. Bart's, the concert series at St. Bartholomew's Church produced by the Mid-Manhattan Performing Arts Foundation (MMPAF), are among New Yorkers' favorite holiday traditions.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will present an evening full of holiday cheer at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with help from Tony award nominees Stephanie J. Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents the original Broadway kids of A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL in THE KIDS FROM A CHRISTMAS STORY on Monday November 2, 2015 at 7:00pm.

NYCO Renaissance, under the leadership of Roy G. Niederhoffer and Michael Capasso, was joined by the official committee of unsecured creditors for the New York City Opera case. They filed as a '“a monumental step forward” and “in the best interests of the debtor's estate and creditors.”  A plan will be submitted in the near future.'

Full casting is announced today for Ben Hur - Tim Carroll directs Alix Dunmore, Richard Durden, John Hopkins and Ben Jones. The production opens on 24 November, with previews from 19 November, and runs until 9 January 2016.

Joe Dowling, the Guthrie Theater's recently retired artistic director, was honored at the 2015 Ivey Lifetime Achievement Award, the celebration of Twin Cities theater, on September 21 at the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. Critically-acclaimed actor Mikell Sapp received the Emerging Artist Award.

Bram Stoker's Dracula has been a mainstay at Actors Theatre of Louisville (ATL) since 1995, and has become identified with actor/director William McNulty, who eight years ago was invited to forge his own adaptation of the horror classic. The result only intensified audience demand and acceptance, and the play now stands as the second holiday perennial (with A Christmas Carol) for Louisville's highly acclaimed regional theatre.
