Actress Betsy Palmer, whose long film, stage and television career began back in 1951 in the early days of live television and who later found a new generation of fans in her role as Mrs. Vorhees in the cult film classic Friday the 13th, has died at the age of 88, it was announced today by her longtime manager Brad Lemack.

This spring, Atlanta Ballet will present the world premiere of a ballet based on "Camino Real" by Tennessee Williams, the renowned playwright who authored such American classics as "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Choreographed by Atlanta Ballet choreographer in residence Helen Pickett, Williams' "lost classic" of love, redemption and courage will debut March 20-22 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. (Roger Rees, previously announced in the role, is no longer available.) The Band Wagon cast stars Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, seven-time Emmy Award winner Tracey Ullman, Academy Award nominee Michael McKean, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes, Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse and Don Stephenson. The Band Wagon will open on Sunday, November 8.
