As the kick-off to this year's highly anticipated “2018 American Music Awards,” chart-topping artists Kane Brown and Ella Mai, singer and American Music Award winner Normani and award winning singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha today announced the nominations LIVE from YouTube Space LA.  The event was livestreamed on the official American Music Awards YouTube channel (YouTube.com/TheAMAs) and included a panel discussion about the nominations with the presenting talent and Billboard correspondent Chelsea Briggs. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, the “2018 American Music Awards” will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 9 at 8:00pm ET on ABC. 

Heathers the Musical will welcome Nathan Amzi (Aladdin, In The Heights, Rock of Ages, The Voice UK) to Westerberg High for the first time at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Nathan will be joining Carrie Hope Fletcher in the smash-hit musical until the end of the semester on 24 November.

Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) students are given the opportunity to study alongside esteemed industry leaders, guest artists and teachers as part of the school's third annual Master Artist Series. The innovative series began in celebration of OCSA's 30th anniversary two years ago and continues to bring high-caliber arts professionals to campus, where they collaborate with faculty to create exceptional learning experiences for students. Just in time for Halloween, Strawdog Theatre Company launches its 31st season with the world premiere of MASQUE MACABRE, a dark and bloody thrill ride inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe - think Carrie meets Eyes Wide Shut. The handlers of a 'bad boy' entrepreneur go to extremes to give him one last big bash before his past catches up to him. An explorative immersive theatre experience a la Sleep No More, guests travel from room to room throughout the space and follow stories of revenge and murder as they play out in real time.

Nine Nashville area actors have been cast in the upcoming production of Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band, which will play six performances at The Barbershop Theatre, 4003 Indiana Avenue, in a production helmed by veteran director Jeffrey Ellis, who is known throughout Tennessee as a leading theater journalist and critic.

Yesterday, Heathers the Musical had its press launch at The Other Palace. The show, which runs this summer from 9 June to 4 August, is a newly revised and updated version of the 2014 Off-Broadway musical.

Town Hall's Broadway by the Year series closes its 18th acclaimed season with a finale that will feature the musicals from 1988 and 2017 alongside a cast of nearly 35 performers, including the Broadway by the Year Chorus, the Broadway by the Year Dance Ensemble (under the direction of Danny Gardner), and these great stars: William Michals (Emile de Beque in the Lincoln Center production of South Pacific), Brian Charles Rooney (critically acclaimed in the recent Broadway revival of The Three-Penny Opera), Farah Alvin (Drama Desk Nominee and veteran of 5 Broadway shows), Rebecca Faulkenberry (Nancy on Broadway in Groundhog Day), Danny Gardner (2X Drama Desk Winner, Dames at Sea, Star of Radio City Summer Spectacular), and Marina Jurica (The Singing Meteorologist from CBS-TV, Christine in the National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera).

Joining the previously announced Carrie Hope Fletcher as Veronica Sawyer, are the most popular girls in school: Jodie Steele (Chandler), Sophie Isaacs (McNamara) and T'Shan Williams (Duke) – The Heathers, with Jamie Muscato playing the mysterious teen rebel Jason Dean (JD).

This year marks 50 years since the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr and 30 years since the first performance of the late Martin Smith's acclaimed musical KING. Hackney Empire, in co-production with London Musical Theatre Orchestra, presents a special concert version for two performances only.
