Today we rewind to 2011, when Carrie returned to the off-Broadway stage with MCC. The reworked production opened March 1, 2011, with a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, music by Academy Award winning composer Michael Gore, and lyrics by Academy Award winning lyricist Dean Pitchford.

On this day in 1988, the musical adaptation of the horror tale, Carrie, began its notoriously short original Broadway run.

During this interactive theatrical experience they invite the audience to attend prom and fully commit to the world of CARRIE the musical for a night they will never forget.

A strictly limited Australian Premiere Season of arguably the most infamous Broadway musical of all-time, CARRIE THE MUSICAL, will play the Seymour Centre now through November 30 as the final production in their 2013 Reginald season of independent works. CARRIE THE MUSICAL is also the final production of Squabbalogic Independent Music Theatre's first annual season, following hugely popular runs of Forbidden Broadway and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Cohen, lyrics by Dean Pitchford, and music by Michael Gore. Adapted from Stephen King's novel Carrie, it focuses on an awkward teenage girl with telekinetic powers whose lonely life is dominated by an oppressive religious fanatic mother. When she is humiliated by her classmates at the high school prom, she wreaks havoc on everyone and everything in her path.
