Rob Guest Endowment Announces Major Changes

The Committee for the Rob Guest Endowment, one of Australia's most exciting scholarship programs providing financial assistance and industry support to the next generation of musical theatre stars, today announced major changes to the Endowment. The winner of the Rob Guest Endowment Award will now be awarded a $50,000 prize along with the coveted RGE Trophy, making the award the largest single Musical Theatre scholarship in Australia. Melbourne's East End Theatre District Artist Development award will also be increased to a $10,000 cash prize. The competition will now be offered biennially with the next Endowment in 2020 boasting a total prize pool of over $75,000.

Portland Opera is pleased to welcome two-time Tony Award-winning actress and singer Sutton Foster to Portland at the Flora + Fauna Fall Ball on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Portland Art Museum. The gala event will begin with a champagne and welcome reception, followed by dinner, live auction, and private performance by Foster. The goal of the Flora + Fauna Fall Ball is to raise one million dollars for Portland Opera.

Inaugural Miami Valley High School Theatre Awards Showcase Rousing Success

More than 22 local school theatre programs were represented tonight at the inaugural Miami Valley High School Theatre Awards (MVHSTA) Showcase, held at the Schuster Center. The Tony Awards-inspired showcase honored schools, students, and directors for artistic excellence in high school theatre during the 2018-2019 school year. The evening began with an opening number, 'This Is Me' from THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, and closed with 'You Will Be Found' from DEAR EVAN HANSEN, performed by more than 50 local theatre students. Emcee, Leah Thomas, MVSTA adjudicator and coordinator, announced awards for Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Production of a Best, Lead Actress and Lead Actor as well as awards for technical theatre and direction, to name a few.

At Cafe Carlyle, she'll perform Broadway favorites and original recordings, focusing on selections from her new album, Take Me to the World, and stories of how being a mother of a two-year-old has informed her work and changed her life.
