The City of Cleveland Heights announces RAGTIME will be produced in the Alma Theater June 13-30, 2019 as part of Cain Park?s 81st season; preview is June 13 with opening night on June 14. Cain Park Theater Artistic Director Joanna May Hunkins directs RAGTIME with musical direction by Jordan Cooper.

The 2019 Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, New York's all-Irish theatre festival and the world's only festival devoted exclusively to producing the plays of contemporary Irish playwrights from around the world, settles in to its new January time slot, running three weeks from January 9 to 28. A total 17 events, including six mainstage productions from Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Queens and Manhattan, will be seen in and out of competition. Among the productions, five are US premieres; one is a world premiere. 15 contemporary Irish writers are represented with work in performance.

Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), the third and final season of the Peabody award-winning Netflix original premieres worldwide January 1, 2019. Starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny - whose evil uncle Count Olaf (Harris) will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. After foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings might finally discover the truth about their parents' mysterious death, while unraveling the layers of a clandestine organization, and revealing the secrets of the coveted, missing sugar bowl.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today that due to high demand, the world premiere of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris (Daddy, Zola), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy), will run for an additional two weeks. Originally scheduled to play its final performance on December 30, 2018, Slave Play will now play additional performances through Sunday January 13, 2019. Slave Play began previews on Monday, November 19, 2018 and will open Sunday, December 9 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003).

Final casting is announced for VIOLET, a multi award-winning musical with Music by Jeanine Tesori (Tony Award winner for Best Original Score with Lisa Kron for Fun Home, and Tony-nominated for Caroline, or Change and Shrek the Musical), and Book & Lyrics by Brian Crawley (The Little Princess).

Bay Area Musicals (Matthew McCoy, Founder & Artistic Director, and AeJay Mitchell, Managing Director) has announced the line-up of performers for the Company's first annual Holiday Benefit Fundraiser, ONCE UPON A DECEMBER - an evening celebrating family, community, and the Holiday season. This merry and bright holiday cabaret will star some of the Bay Area's best musical performers, including Jenny Angel (Seussical), Alissa Sanchez (The Wedding Singer), Jesse Cortez (Crazy for You) and Jack O'Reilly (La Cage Aux Folles, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), among many others (and perhaps even a special appearance by Mr. Claus himself)! Audiences will enjoy beautiful renditions of Yuletide and show tunes, while food and cocktails will be available to purchase.

The Broadway Boys have released the first single “Magic to Do” off of their upcoming album. Entitled, “A New Broadway,” this will be the group's third album and will highlight the new sound, the new arrangements and the new talent of The Broadway Boys. “A New Broadway” was recorded in August and is being produced by James Sampliner (THE PRINCE OF BROADWAY) and Artistic Director of The Broadway Boys Jesse Nager (MOTOWN THE MUSICAL).

Full casting has been announced for 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL at the Savoy Theatre, London for a strictly limited season from 28 January - 31 August 2019. Bonnie Langford will play 'Roz Keith', joining the previously announced Louise Redknapp as 'Violet Newstead', Amber Davies as 'Judy Bernly', Natalie McQueen as 'Doralee Rhodes' and Brian Conley as 'Franklin Hart'.

Set to open at the Atrium in Rancho Mirage on January 23 and run through February 17, 2019, White is a funny, 90-minute play that draws on both life and art to examine issues of racism, sexism, gender and identity - a perfect fit for CVRep's 2018/19 seasonal theme of 'a handful of isms.'

In 1980 the film '9 to 5' about the secretaries who rebelled against their CEO when they were tired of his behavior, was a blockbuster at the cinemas worldwide. The film may well be seen as a classic because Dolly Parton's lead motive became such a success. Ten years ago, it opened as a musical in Los Angeles with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and script by Patricia Resnick. In 2009 it opened on Broadway for a short period of time and has been played for example in England and in a couple of places in Germany and will open on January 28, 2019 at Savoy, West End in London. But the 23rd of November it was premiered at Tibble Theatre outside Stockholm, produced and directed by Robin Karlsson.

The nominees for the 29th Annual LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement throughout Los Angeles, were announced this week.

American Blues Theater continues its 2018-2019 Season with its 17th Annual Production of It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago! from Frank Capra's film and directed by Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside with musical direction by Ensemble Member Michael Mahler. It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago! runs November 15, 2018 - January 5, 2019 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Firebrand Theatre is pleased to announce award-winning actress Barbara E. Robertson will star as Anna (Annie) Edson Taylor in its Chicago premiere of QUEEN OF THE MIST featuring book, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine) direction by Elizabeth Margolius and music direction by Charlotte Rivard-Hoster. Newly-arranged for an all-femme quintet, QUEEN OF THE MIST will play May 25 - July 6, 2019 at The Den Theatre's Janet Bookspan Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago.

The Acting Company announces its 2019 Season, which will feature Native Son, by Nambi E. Kelley, adapted from the novel by Richard Wright and directed by Seret Scott playing in rotating repertory with William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure directed Janet Zarish.

Bay Area Musicals (Matthew McCoy, Founder & Artistic Director, and AeJay Mitchell, Managing Director) has announced the full cast and creative team for the first production of the Company' 2018-2019 season, CRAZY FOR YOU. Winner of the Tony and the Olivier Awards for Best Musical, CRAZY FOR YOU has wowed audiences on Broadway, the West End and around the world, reimagining classic Gershwin songs into a hilarious new book musical.  The show-stopping production will be an intimate version of the large-scale musical featuring the original Tony Award-winning choreography of Susan Stroman, recreated by Director/Choreographer Matthew McCoy.

VIOLET, a multi award-winning musical with Music by Jeanine Tesori (Tony Award winner for Best Original Score with Lisa Kron for Fun Home, and Tony-nominated for Caroline, or Change and Shrek the Musical), and Book & Lyrics by Brian Crawley (The Little Princess), is to get its UK premiere in an international co-production that will see it transfer to Tokyo.

Macy Medford's had a pretty remarkable time while studying at Belmont University. A graduate of Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, she came to Nashville as part of the Class of 2019 of the school's renowned musical theatre program at Belmont, where she continues to grow as a performer, but perhaps more importantly as an individual with her sights firmly focused on the future.

Dundalk Community Theatre begins its 2019 season with Bill Russell's 1998 Tony Award Nominated Musical "Side Show", from November 9th - 18th. The show brings to life the world of Daisy and Violet Hilton, conjoined twins, who became famous stage performers in the 1930s. Individual tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for senior adults and $17 for students/DCT Actors/Children 12 and under.

Audiences are taking a trip to a world of 'Pure Imagination' with Cincinnati's 2018-2019 Broadway Series opener, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, running now through Nov. 4! Based on the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie tells the story of a young boy who dreams of one day becoming a chocolatier.

The Round Barn Theatre first produced "Annie" in 1996, its first year of repertory theatre. Nine year old Sarajane Morse Mullins captured the hearts of that first year's audience as the world's most famous redhead. Now twenty-two years later, Sarajane returns as Miss Hannigan on the same stage she began her professional career. Annie's red dress has been passed to Maddi Reese Ames, the next generation of budding starlets. It promises to be a special homecoming and debut for the two actresses and audiences.

First Stage, one of the nation's leading theaters for young people and families, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Roald Dahl's MATILDA The Musical, featuring music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and book by Dennis Kelly. This will be the first full-length musical First Stage has produced, performing at the Marcus Center's Todd Wehr Theater January 11 - February 24, 2019. First Stage productions are typically cast with two Young Performer casts; this production will feature two Young Performer casts, with three Young Performers who alternate playing the title role of Matilda. Artistic Director Jeff Frank will direct this production of MATILDA The Musical, Director of Artistic Operations Jeff Schaetzke serves as Music Director and Milwaukee Ballet's Michael and Jayne Pink will choreograph.
