Transport Group has announced casting for its world premiere musical, Renascence, which begins performances Friday, October 5 at 7:30pm, at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street. Renascence has music by Carmel Dean (musical director If/Then, American Idiot), book by Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Everyday Rapture), and lyrics from the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Organizers have once again curated a film lineup to feature the untold and underrepresented stories of America's military through film. The six-day San Diego military film festival features 34 films, including nine world premieres and five West Coast premieres, as well as several screenings, filmmaker appearances, and panel discussions. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will end its Green Show season early due the ongoing impacts of wildfire smoke. The Green Show, a series of free performances typically offered on OSF's Courtyard Stage six nights a week throughout the summer and into mid-October, will end on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018. The Festival remains open and its 10 mainstage plays will continue into October.
