BroadwayCon celebrates its fifth year in 2020, returning to the New York Hilton Midtown on Friday, January 24 through Sunday, January 26. Tickets go on sale to the public at 1 PM ET on April 19, 2019. Returning attendees of BroadwayCon 2019 will have special pre-sale access beginning Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 1 PM ET.

Hartford Stage announced today the cast and creative team for the world premiere musical The Flamingo Kid, helmed by Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak. The musical, which closes the 2018-19 season, boasts an impressive cast of Broadway and regional theatre talent. Performances for The Flamingo Kid begin on Thursday, May 9, and run through Sunday, June 9.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, after two successful years on Broadway, the musical adaptation of the hit animated film, Anastasia will play its final performance on today, March 31, 2019. Upon closing, Anastasia will have played 808 regular and 34 preview performances at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

Joshua Turchin will return to The Green Room 42 with his cabaret series, 'The Early Night Show with Joshua Turchin,' on February 10, 2019 at 2pm. Broadway in Indianapolis has announced the 2019- 2020 Season which includes the Broadway Musical, HAMILTON, playing its premiere Indianapolis engagement and anchoring the 2019-2020 Season. Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director), recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award in 2016, launches its 80th milestone season with The Color Purple, directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle. The Color Purple is the Tony Award-winning musical revival based upon the novel written by Alice Walker and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment motion picture with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.
