Michael McElroy (Sunday in the Park with George; Big River; Rent, leader of Broadway Inspirational Voices) and Aisha De Haas (Caroline, or Change; Rent) will be the featured vocalists in the next installment of 'Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz Session,' the new monthly series which presents In Transit composer Kaplan's innovative jazz interpretations of current Broadway favorites.

This July, Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

HEADLESS - a modern gothic rock-opera ghost story that revisits author Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from co-writers Bradley Bredeweg (Freeform's 'The Fosters,' Showtime's 'Intersection,' Bill Condon's Side Show on Broadway) and Brad Hooks (Freeform's 'The Fosters') - will be the focus of a new work development lab that will explore the score, story and new stage technology over the course of two and a half weeks at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis) in Beverly Hills. The lab will launch on Thursday, July 6 and will culminate with closed presentations on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 (presentations by private invitation only).

Second Stage Theater has announced that Mercedes Ruehl, winner of the Tony Award, Academy Award, and Golden Globe Award, will star opposite the previously announced Michael Urie in the upcoming production of Harvey Fierstein's modern classic, Torch Song, directed by Moises Kaufman.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 26 at 10:00am ET for SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway - Broadway at 47th Street). Preview performances begin Monday, November 6th with an official opening on Monday, December 4th.

Tony Award Productions and Broadway Records have announced the first ever Tony Award Season compilation album to be released on CD and digitally at most major music retailers including Barnes & Noble and iTunes/Apple Music on June 9, 2017.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Dear Evan Hansen, with a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Dear Evan Hansen premiered at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. the summer of 2015, with a subsequent Off Broadway run at Second Stage the spring of 2016 and transfer to Broadway in the fall of the same year where it's currently running. The original musical earned nine Tony Award nominations this season.

THE INTREPID SEA, AIR, & SPACE MUSEUM (Fleet Week) will be hosting the production of Natalie Lovejoys' DEPLOYED: A NEW MUSICAL IN CONCERT. This celebrated new production will perform selections from the show at the INTREPID MUSEUM, Pier 86, W 46th St and 12th Ave, New York, NY 10036 on Sunday, May 28 at 1:30pm & 4:30pm.

Fresh off a cross-country tour, John Strand's critically-acclaimed political drama The Originalist, based on the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, returns to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater under the direction of Artistic Director Molly Smith.

'Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz Session,' a special concert which was first performed April 30, will be continuing as a monthly series.

Broadway favorites Tom Wopat (A Catered Affair, Annie Get Your Gun) and Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Next to Normal, Wicked) will perform in Hattiesburg, Miss. during Festival South, an annual creative arts festival, June 1-17. The Hub City Players will stage Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, whose memorable tunes by Tony nominees, Benj Pasik and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land) were recorded in 2015.

Broadway shows are made, not born. Though the polished final product of a Broadway show seems to land before our very eyes as if put there by some divine circumstance, the life of the average show before it makes its way to New York is long.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre is proud to congratulate What Would Crazy Horse Do? Director, Sam Pinkleton on his Tony Award Nomination Best Choreography for his work on this season's Broadway hit musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which led the field with 12 nominations, including Best Musical. Pinkleton previously choreographed KCRep's 2015 acclaimed production of Hair: Retrospection.
