The League of Chicago Theatres, in partnership with Choose Chicago, announces the second annual Chicago Theatre Week, to take place February 11-16, 2014. Court Theatre and American Blues Theater jointly announce the development of a new adaptation of Richard Wright's classic novel, Native Son, adapted by Nambi E. Kelley, a member of the American Blues Ensemble. Native Son is slated to open in fall 2014 at Court Theatre as part of its 60th Anniversary Season and American Blues Theater's 29th season.

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 concert season. Under the continued artistic leadership of Music Director José-Luis Novo, the season will feature the Lexus Classic Series, a combination of five classical concerts, as well as a Holiday Pops concert sponsored by PNC Wealth Management, a Family concert and a free summer Pops in the Park concert presented by Lexus. Redmoon announces today Rebecca Rugg as Producer of the Great Chicago Fire Festival, a citywide event that will take place in neighborhoods throughout the summer in 2014, with the spectacle finale that October on the Chicago River. Before joining Redmoon, she worked as Artistic Producer at Steppenwolf Theater Company. She currently serves on the faculty of the Yale School of Drama and has served on the artistic staff at New York's Public Theater.

The 2014 season opens with the Chicago Premiere of Duke Ellington's Queenie Pie. Original dates announced were February 15-23, 2014. REVISED dates are February 15- March 5, 2014. Specific dates are February 15, 21, 23 and March 5, 2014.

Tomorrow marks an exciting landmark for Million Dollar Quartet. The Chicago production is celebrating 2,000 performances. To mark the occasion, original MDQ cast member (now on the National Tour) Kelly Lamont will join the company for a 'Sitting in with the Band' appearance during the encore. Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced last week a plan to partner with Redmoon, the large-scale spectacle and public art group, to create a new festival that will culminate in a procession of illuminated floating fiberglass sculptures as well as a fire spectacle on the main branch of the Chicago River. The inaugural Great Chicago Fire Festival, presented by Redmoon in partnership with the City of Chicago, will take place in October 2014.

"It's almost like being in love!" Goodman Theatre proudly announces a Summer 2014 production of the 1947 musical Brigadoon, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe-marking the first major revival of the musical in nearly 20 years. Award-winning Chicago director/choreographer Rachel Rockwell, hailed as "a theatrical magician" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "2012 Chicagoan of the Year" (Chicago Tribune) for her recent reinvestigations of American musicals, directs the piece in her Goodman debut.
