The Gexa Energy Broadway at the Hobby Center 2013-2014 season, announced today, brings some of Broadway's biggest hits to Houston.

The sensational season kicks off with THE BOOK OF MORMON, the multi-Tony Award winning musical from the creators of South Park.

The season continues with the swashbuckling musical play prequel to Peter Pan PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, the razzle-dazzle fan favorite CHICAGO, the musical tale of everlasting love GHOST, and the Tony Award-winning Best Play that TIME Magazine calls "A Landmark Theater Event," War Horse.

"Our new season features the best of Broadway today," Fran Macferran, president of the Hobby Center Foundation, said. "Collectively, these shows have won 25 Tony Awards, not to mention an enormous amount of praise from both critics and audiences alike."

THE BOOK OF MORMON

September 3 - 15, 2013

Winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, THE BOOK OF MORMON features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of the landmark animated series, "South Park." Tony Award-winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, AVENUE Q. The musical is choreographed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE) and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker. THE BOOK OF MORMON contains explicit language. War Horse

At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets created by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, that bring to life breathing, galloping, charging horses strong enough for men to ride.
