A PLAY from the pen of Offspring creator and head writer Debra Oswald comes to Melville Theatre this autumn, focusing on friendship, ego and the secret longing for a better life.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the full cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's tragicomedy The Winter's Tale, directed by OBIE Award-winner Arin Arbus. The production plays March 13-April 15, 2018, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place), TFANA's home in the Brooklyn Cultural District.

Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that Irina Dvorovenko ('The Americans'), a former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer, Tony Award nominees Tony Yazbeck (ON THE TOWN, FINDING NEVERLAND) and Peter Friedman (RAGTIME, The Vineyard's THE SLUG BEARERS OF KAYROL ISLAND...), and Teagle F. Bourgere (THE CRUCIBLE, A RAISIN IN THE SUN) will be featured in the world premiere of THE BEAST IN THE JUNGLE, an original work fusing dance, drama and music by legendary composer and four-time Tony Award winner John Kander (CABARET, CHICAGO), Tony Award nominee playwright David Thompson (STEEL PIER; FLORA, THE RED MENACE), and five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (THE PRODUCERS, CONTACT). Performances will begin May 4, 2018 with opening night set for May 23. Kander, Thompson, and Stroman previously collaborated at The Vineyard on THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS.

TOOTSIE's story is hitting the stage! Scott Sanders Productions announced today that the world premiere of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE, will play a pre-Broadway engagement this fall at Broadway In Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL) from September 11 October 14. TOOTSIE will come to Broadway in spring 2019.

Broadway is going to get hot in 2019. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) just announced a new Broadway production of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Kiss Me, Kate starring Kelli O'Hara in the hilarious duo leading roles of Kate and Lilli Vanessi.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced its 2017-18 Artists in Residence. Due to critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of their world premiere production of The Treasurer, a new play by Max Posner (Judy).

Playwrights Horizons presents THE TREASURER, the world premiere of a new play by Max Posner (Judy) and directed by three-time Lortel Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit, Our Town, Adding Machine). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play will be the second production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

PlayGround's 24th season begins October 16, 2017 and runs through June 17, 2018 in Berkeley and San Francisco. The Season opens October 16, 2017 - March 19, 2018 in Berkeley with its acclaimed Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. In the spring, PlayGround's season continues with the PlayGround Festival of New Works from May 10-June 17, 2018 at San Francisco's Potrero Stage, the company's newly-renovated home. A highlight of this year's PlayGround Festival are premieres of two PlayGround commissioned full-length plays: SCAPEGOAT by William Bivins and BRIGHT SHINING SEA by Julianne Jigour, both originally developed at the 2016 Festival.

George Street Playhouse today announced the full cast for an new, updated version of the off-Broadway hit musical, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, with book and lyrics by Playhouse favorite Joe DiPietro (Memphis, Nice Work if You Can Get It) and music by Jimmy Roberts (The Thing About Men, The Velveteen Rabbit). Karen Burthwright (Broadway's Jesus Christ Superstar), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Broadway's Lysistrata Jones, Legally Blonde and Hairspray), Mitchell Jarvis (Broadway's Rock of Ages, GSP world premiere of Gettin' the Band Back Together) and George Merrick (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, South Pacific and High Fidelity; Off-Broadway's Clever Little Lies) star in the inaugural production at George Street Playhouse's new, interim venue at 103 College Farm Road on the Cook Campus of Rutgers University. Performances run Oct. 10-Nov. 12, 2017, with Opening Night set for Friday, October 13.

How do you take hundreds of kids (ages 7 to 17) and put up over a dozen shows (mostly musicals, plus a few plays) in as little as three weeks, with rehearsals limited to maybe just 12 or 13 days, with all or most of the cast rehearsing just slightly more than two hours each day, and many campers working on multiple shows at once? And I'm talking about completely staged shows with full production values, including sets, lighting, sound, costumes and live orchestras. FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training's inaugural season of Dog Days Theatre continues with DOUBLE INDEMNITY, David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright's stage adaptation of James M. Cain's titillating crime novel that inspired the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated film noir of the same name. Dog Days Theatre is a new theater project offering smart, contemporary works just light enough for the dog days of summer, featuring two plays mounted in the Cook Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, using professional actors, directors and designers from the community and around the country along with the talents of the Conservatory's graduate students. Directed by FSU/Asolo Conservatory Director Greg Leaming and Jesse Jou,  DOUBLE INDEMNITY previews August 8 and 9, opens August 10 and runs through August 27. 

Simon Godwin's (Associate Director, London's National Theatre) acclaimed staging of Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare's dark comedy about justice, faith, power, sex and family, will close as scheduled next week, on July 16. Just 15 New York performances remain of the production.

The classic Australian novel Cloudstreet by Tim Winton will open its pages onto the Old Mill Theatre stage this June.

It has just been announced that on April 26, Roundabout's acclaimed production of Steven Levenson's new play IF I FORGET will be captured on video by BroadwayHD, to be released on demand to BroadwayHD subscribers in Fall 2017 (date TBA).

Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude the world-premiere production of If I Forget by Roundabout Underground alumni playwright Steven Levenson (The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin; Dear Evan Hansen), directed by Daniel Sullivan on Sunday, April 30.
