BRIC, celebrating 40 years as the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, announces the New York premiere of Hair & Other Stories from newly appointed BRIC Artists-in-Residence Urban Bush Women.

The Ensemble Theatre elevates the arts featuring an all-female cast in Trey Anthony's 'da Kink in My Hair," music composed by Michael McElroy, Carol Malliard, E'Marcus Harper, and S. Renee Clark; directed by Ensemble Artistic Director Eileen J. Morris; and musical direction by Melanie Bivens.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that following on the heels of NBC's critically acclaimed rock musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert' comes the true original rock musical, 'Hair Live!,' which will be broadcast in the spring of 2019 in front of a live audience. 

The Daily News is reporting that several actresses have accused Broadway veteran Ben Vereen of sexual assault during a production of Hair he directed in Florida in 2015. The women say that Vereen made physical advances such as unwanted kisses and hugs, as well as verbal abuse about the actresses' weight, sex appeal, and personal lives.

It was a reunion for two of the lead actors from Broadway's On the Town when Tony-nominee Tony Yazbeck visited New Hope, PA to see Clyde Alves at Bucks County Playhouse. Alves plays the role of Tago in the world premiere of The New World , the musical comedy that is getting raves from critics. The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Hair, the American Tribal Love-Rock musical, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009, will star Kristen Bell as Sheila, Hunter Parrish as Claude, Amber Riley as Dionne, Jenna Ushkowitz as Jeanie and Beverly D'Angelo as Mom. Adam Shankman will direct and choreograph. Hair will be conducted by Lon Hoyt. Zach Woodlee will serve as associate director and associate choreographer. Additional casting is to be announced.

Adam Shankman has been announced as the director and choreographer of the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of HAIR, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009.
