The production takes audiences on a deeply personal, high energy journey into the private and public life of this famed Underground Railroad conductor, spiritual icon, revolutionary, and entrepreneur, whose life spanned nine decades and still influences the consciousness of people throughout the world. The production is directed by Clinton Turner Davis and will take stage February 8 to March 4 at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street.

Alexis Smith's unique art exhibit Private Lives and Public Affairs comes to Pepperdine University's Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art beginning Saturday, January 20 until Sunday, April 1. A special Meet the Artist reception will be held Sunday, January 21 from 4-6 p.m.

Famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its annual Kennedy Center engagement, February 6 11, with seven magnetic performances on the Opera House stage. At its annual gala event, Celebrate Colburn, the Colburn School will honor renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and acclaimed architect Frank Gehry with the Richard D. Colburn award, for their exemplary achievements and contributions to the worlds of classical music and the performing arts in Los Angeles and throughout the world. Celebrate Colburn takes place at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 7 p.m., followed by a post-performance dinner at a location to be announced.

On Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the New York City Fire Museum, Retired FDNY Firefighter and host of the television show, Firehouse Kitchen, will be deciding who makes America's Best FireHouse Chili. Nothing elicits a sense of pride at fire stations across the country quite like a firehouse kitchen that produces quality eats, especially chili. That's why the makers of HORMEL Chili are working to highlight the underappreciated cooking talents of firefighters everywhere, while also giving firehouses across the country a chance to win $10,000.
