The Music Man officially begins previews tonight on Broadway! Meet the cast bringing the iconic musical back to the stage!

Inspired by the success from their safe drive-in performances of La bohème in the Fall, which heralded the return of live, in-person, opera to San Diego County since the start of the pandemic, and provided over 300 jobs to many, San Diego Opera has announced a Spring season of safe, socially-distanced, drive-in performances.

BETSY McBRIDE, SIMON WEXLER, PAOLA HARTLEY, and KAREN SCALZITTI-KENNEDY will be members of the guest faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. McBride and Mr. Wexler will be teaching from July 27-31, 2020, and Ms.  Hartley and Ms. Scalzitti-Kennedy will be teaching from August 3-7, 2020.

Herman is known for his work on Broadway classics such as Hello, Dolly!, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles, Dear World, Mack & Mabel, The Grand Tour, Milk & Honey and many more. He has been nominated for five Tony Awards, and won twice, for Hello, Dolly! and La Cage Aux Folles. He received a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 2009, and a Kennedy Center Honors in 2010.

More than a decade after disbanding, New Jersey emo act Armor For Sleep is preparing to storm the stage once again in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their pivotal album, What To Do When You Are Dead. The summer tour will kick off on June 18th in Baltimore, with subsequent stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, and more. Lesley Joseph will join the cast for the UK and Ireland tour of the smash-hit musical, a?oeSISTER ACTa??. The show will open on 21 April 2020 at Leicester Curve and will visit Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Manchester. The UK and Ireland tour will re-open on 15 September at Birmingham Hippodrome and will finish its run in Milton Keynes on 5 December 2020. Full tour listings and casting details below.

On occasion a show comes along that puts a smile on your lips from the opening curtain to the final bows, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is that kind of show. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, presented by The American Theatre Guild, opened on Tuesday night at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. Today, D23, the official Disney fan club, has announced the eleven recipients for the 2019 Disney Legends Award. This year's recipients are Bette Midler, Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer. 

Accompany Utah Symphony Music Director Thierry Fischer in two consecutive Masterworks weekends as the Utah Symphony completes the cycle of J.S. Bach's renowned Brandenburg Concertos at 7:30 PM in Abravanel Hall. In combination with the beloved, Baroque classics, the performances also include works of influential French composers Boulez and Berlioz, which the orchestra is recording live for later release on Hyperion Records. Maestro Fischer worked alongside Boulez and included his work 'Initiale' as an homage to the late composer. Pianist Shai Wosner is joined by longtime piano-duo partner Orion Weiss for a month-long, coast-to-coast tour to five cities across the U.S. Their recital program comprises Schubert's “Grand Duo” Sonata in C major, D. 812, Brahms's Sonata in F minor, Op. 34b, and David Lang's companion pieces gravity (2005) and after gravity (2007).

Grab your sunscreen and head down south for the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Headlining will be country icon, Wynonna, with her band The Big Noise, and hit-maker Joe Nichols, with two more to be announced. RaeLynn, Thompson Square, Craig Campbell, Restless Heart, Love and Theft, Trent Tomlinson, Scooter Brown Band and Southern Halo are also scheduled to perform at the festival, with more acts to be announced. Music Director Designate Jaap van Zweden will lead the New York Philharmonic on the ASIA 2018 tour, March 8–18, 2018. The ten-day tour — Jaap van Zweden's first international tour with the Orchestra — will feature eight concerts in five cities. The Orchestra will perform in Beijing, Kyoto, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Taipei.
