The Group Rep to Present World Premiere of MOM'S GIFT, 12/6-1/19

The Group Rep presents the World Premiere Comedy, MOM'S GIFT, written by Phil Olson, directed by Sherry Netherland, and produced by Laura Coker for the Group Rep. The play runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm from December 6th, 2013 to January 19, 2014 at the Lonny Chapman Theatre (10900 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood 91601).

The highly anticipated new musical, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter is currently in previews on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street), following a critically acclaimed, sold-out World Premiere in San Francisco. Ridgefield Theater Barn to Stage BECKY'S NEW CAR, Begin. 11/15

The Ridgefield Theater Barn will present Becky's New Car, a charming comedy by Steven Dietz, directed by Sherry Asch and produced by Cheryl Boyd, starting Friday, November 15th. The play, an endearing look at the choices we make and their inevitable consequences, will run Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm through December 7th, with Sunday matinees at 2pm on November 24th and December 1st.

New York Philharmonic Ensembles Set for Merkin Concert Hall November 17, 2013

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of musicians from the Orchestra, will give its second performance of the 2013–14 season on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall with a concert featuring L.E. Jadin's Nocturne No. 3 for Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, and Horn; Nielsen's Woodwind Quintet; and Schubert's String Quintet. The musicians on the program will be violinists Quan Ge and Lisa GiHae Kim; violist Vivek Kamath; cellists Ru-Pei Yeh and Sumire Kudo; flutist Mindy Kaufman; Associate Principal Oboe Sherry Sylar; clarinetist Pascual Marti?nez Forteza; Associate Principal Bassoon Kim Laskowski; and hornists R. Allen Spanjer and Howard Wall.

Smokey D's BBQ Wins World Series of BBQ Championship

After winning every meat category over the past decade at The American Royal competition in Kansas City, Smokey D's BBQ brought home the overall title in the World Series of BBQ over the weekend. The win netted co-owners Darren and Sherry Warth $12,500 in prize money, $5,000 in bonus Kingsford prize money as well as invitations to the prestigious Kingsford Invitational in New York City in November, the 2014 Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational in Lynchburg, TN and the 2014 Houston Livestock BBQ.
