After a short lifetime of battling opiate addiction and burning bridges, Tess Butler is dead. Now, it is up to seven people from her life to come together and decide whether or not she’s worth saving. Trapped in a seemingly normal jury deliberation room, Tess can only bear witness as the jurors reconstruct her life, uncovering secrets, confronting hard truths, and slowly reaching a consensus. Is this the end for Tess Butler, or is there yet a part of her that deserves redemption?

Sundance Institute Announces 2020 Momentum Fellows and Launch Grant Fund Recipients

Sundance Institute announced today two support tracks for artists from underrepresented communities, continuing the Institute's commitment to fostering inclusive artistic visions. Announced today are the eight members of the second class of the Momentum Fellowship, a full-year program of deep, customized creative and professional support for writers, directors, and producers from underrepresented communities who are poised to take the next step in their careers, working across documentary and feature filmmaking, and episodic content. Sundance Institute also announced the four awardees of the inaugural Launch Grant Fund, a new opportunity for emerging filmmakers from underrepresented communities launching their first feature film.

Now in its 16th year, the initiative provides a platform for experienced directors to gain access to showrunners, executives, managers and agents and, more importantly, the opportunity to shadow CBS Television Network and CBS Television Studio shows throughout the year. The program helps directors develop strategic objectives aimed at cultivating meaningful relationships with industry professionals that are essential to getting hired.

Tchaikovsky's perfect tragedy of first love, Eugene Onegin, opens the season, with Anush Hovhannisyan as Tatyana. Critically acclaimed for her role as Violetta in La traviata for Scottish Opera in 2017, and nominated in the 2018 International Opera Awards, she makes her OHP debut. Also appearing at OHP for the first time is the Australian baritone Samuel Dale Johnson as Onegin. British lyric soprano Amanda Roocroft makes her role debut as Madame Larina, having performed the role of Tatyana to great acclaim internationally. Fresh from success at Opera North and the Royal Opera, Nicky Spence returns to OHP as Lensky. Emma Stannard sings the role of Tatyana's sister Olga, with Kathleen Wilkinson as their nurse, Filippyevna.

Healdsburg's Raven Players, located in the heart of the Northern California wine country, have announced they are accepting submissions for their inaugural Short Play Festival to run February 28 - March 1, 2020 at the Raven Performing Arts Theater in Healdsburg.
