Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) are pleased to announce that their groundbreaking joint program, Opera Fusion: New Works, will host two new operas in November and December of 2018.

On September 15th, Opera San Jose's 35th season opens with Mozart's comedy The Abduction from the Seraglio. The opera was commissioned by Emperor Joseph II, and as the myth goes when he first heard it, he complained to Mozart, 'That is too fine for my ears - there are too many notes.' Mozart replied, 'There are just as many notes as there should be.'

Gettin' the Band Back Together on Broadway, directed by Tony Award winner John Rando and choreographed by Chris Bailey, celebrates its official opening night tonight!

Overtone Industries, in collaboration with By The Souls of Our Feet (BTSOOF), is proud to present Part I of their epic tale, Cynosemma: A Dirge from the Dog's Tomb, running for four performances over the weekend of Friday, August 17th through Sunday, August 19, 2018. Co-Directed by Nathan Singh and Sabina Zuniga Varela with music by O-Lan Jones and libretto by Megan Breen, Cynosemma is a ritualistic opera ripped from the myth of Hecuba. Part I is a ceremonial exploration of the ancient but immediate clash between possession and liberation. The infamous Queen of Troy (played by Jones), along with her daughters and a tribe of women face off with the men responsible for the fall of their city. The limited engagement will take place at Son of Semele (3301 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90004). Audience members are invited to stay afterwards for refreshments and a post-show symposium. The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural institution, today announced Crossing The Line Festival 2018, featuring leading international artists in a wide-ranging program of events, performances, and exhibitions from September 18 to October 13, 2018. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) North Miami will present the exhibition "Tracing the Red Thread," by distinguished South Florida-based artist Mira Lehr, Sept. 6 - Nov. 4, 2018. The multimedia, museum-wide installation will reflect Lehr's eco-feminist philosophy, the concept of mankind working with nature rather than dominating over it. Lehr uses the classical myth of Ariadne to explore the beauty, fragility and interconnectedness of the endangered aquatic ecosystem of the South Florida coast.

Initial casting has been announced for the forthcoming UK and Ireland tour of the award-winning smash-hit musical "ROCK OF AGES" opening at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley on 20 September 2018 and arriving at the Opera House Manchester from 25-29 September.

For more than two decades, THE CRYSTAL METHOD has remained at the forefront of the worldwide electronic music industry as pioneers of the big beat genre, innovators of the '90s electronica movement and current-day global ambassadors of the American electronic sound. Now in its sixth year, Brooklyn Opera Works (BOW), founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Lina Tetriani, proudly features emerging stars in opera, theater, and dance. During its Summer Vocal Arts program, BOW hosts three productions at the BMS Playhouse: a fully produced opera, an original work of music, theater and dance for children, and the annual A Brooklyn Cabaret. BOW is dedicated to making opera into a living art form that challenges and engages diverse contemporary audiences.

Theatre of NOTE continues its 2018 season with the West Coast premiere of MARIAN, OR THE TRUE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD, written by Adam Szymkowicz and directed by Christopher Johnson.

Following the disappointment of the March postponement caused by bad weather, a replacement date has been announced for Proto-type Theater's THE AUDIT (or Iceland, a modern myth) at ARC, Stockton-on-Tees. The show, which has been creating a stir around the country, can be seen today 10 July as the last date of its national tour. The performance will be interpreted in British Sign Language for those with hearing impairment.

Casting for the European premiere of Bill Russell and Janet Hood's new musical Unexpected Joy has been announced. The powerful all-female cast is made up of: Janet Fullerlove (Fortune's Fool, The Beggar's Opera) as Joy; Jodie Jacobs (Myth, Rock of Ages) as Rachel; Melanie Marshall (Guys and Dolls, Jane Eyre) as Lou; and Kelly Sweeney (Ronald William White Acting Through Song Prize Winner 2018) as Tamara.

KINKY BOOTS, the winner of every major Best Musical award, is pleased to announce casting for the upcoming UK tour which visits Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from 16 - 27 October 2018. LEAP Dance Festival is one of the UK's most anticipated dance festivals and today producers MDI who celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, can reveal full details for the 2018 festival taking place from 2 to 12 November. The festival will mainly take place at venues across Liverpool Hope University, Creative Campus.

Production images are today released for a new adaptation of Henry V presented by Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory at Theatre Royal Bath's Ustinov Studio where it runs until Saturday 21 July with opening night for press on Thursday 28 June. The production which stars Ben Hall and is directed by Elizabeth Freestone, launches Artistic Director Jonathan Church's 2018 Summer Season of five plays at Theatre Royal Bath.

The British Museum lent 2,200 objects to 81 venues outside the UK from Toledo, Ohio to Hobart, Australia. In November, India and the World, a history in nine stories opened at CSMVS in Mumbai. Supported by the Getty Foundation and Tata Trusts, this is the first exhibition of its kind, a collaborative partnership between CSMVS, the National Museum of Delhi and the British Museum. Indian objects were selected from collections across India and the British Museum provided global objects to show the interconnectivity of India to the world throughout the centuries. The exhibition received over 200,000 visitors in Mumbai and has recently opened in Delhi.
