In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, JOHN LYDON's PUBLIC IMAGE LTD (PiL) have announced a flurry of activity for 2018 including a worldwide tour, a career-spanning boxset and the theatrical release of a brand-new documentary film on the band. 'THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN: NORTH AMERICAN TOUR' will visit 18 major cities beginning Oct. 9 in New Orleans and ending Nov. 6 in Mexico City (all dates below). Tickets for PiL's fall tour are on sale now (here).

Directed byTabbert Fiiller and released by Abramorama, the film will make its North American theatrical premiere on Friday, September 14 in New York City at Metrograph with more theatrical dates in October-November to coincide with PiL's North American fall tour. Today, New Orleans Theatre Association and Broadway in New Orleans announced a new three-year agreement with Hancock Whitney beginning with the 2018-2019 season. The partnership furthers Hancock Whitney's long-standing investment in New Orleanians' cultural experience by continuing to bring the best Broadway performances to the Crescent City.

LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts opens its inaugural summer 2018 season, which will fill venues surrounding the organization's highly anticipated new facility in Catskill, New York, with Scat!,a dance-driven musical from Urban Bush Women set in Hudson, NY's Club Helsinki (June 29-July 1). The season,which runs from June 29 - September 2, represents the fullest realization to date of LUMBERYARD's unique dual promise: to make transformative contributions both to the cultural landscape and economic health of Upstate New York and to the field of contemporary performance in New York City and the U.S. by bringing renowned and emerging artists across the performing arts landscape to Catskill for out-of-town premieres, often incubated through LUMBERYARD's signature technical residencies.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

Windowsill Pies' Lazy Summer Strawberry and Cream Pie has been named the "Official Pie of WAITRESS New Orleans." The recipe will be inserted into all WAITRESS Cookbooks sold at the Saenger Theatre during the New Orleans engagement. Mini versions of the pie are sold at the Whole Foods on Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie.

The production is directed by Leonard Foglia and features original music composed and performed by bassist Marcus Shelby who joins Ms. Smith on stage.

An extraordinary lineup featuring soul and rhythm-and-blues icons Charlie Wilson, Boyz II Men, Kem and Joe will take the stage for the 3rd Annual Mother's Day Good Music Festival. Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced the complete casting and programming for the company's 2018 Summer Festival, which will feature new productions of four operas at The Spa Little Theater in Spa State Park, along with a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events from May 26th through July 15th at venues throughout the region. 'Distant Observer: Tokyo/New York Correspondence' is a collaboration between Japanese playwright/director Takeshi Kawamura and American playwright/director John Jesurun. The project is conceived as a play written and directed in collaborative partnership by both artists. Written in sequential chapters by each playwright, it combines two noted and formative artists of the same generation, both with distinct voices and significant work, in a deep creative conversation across cultures. Its plot follows a supposed murderer who reinvents himself, and is reinvented by circumstance, in a series of adventures in the Suicide Forest of Japan.  La MaMa will present the play's world premiere, directed by Jesurun, March 16 to April 1 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East Fourth Street.

The Catastrophic Theatre continues its 2017-2018 season with the rolling world premiere of Leap and the Net Will Appear by Chana Porter, who two-time Obie Award-winning playwright and director Craig Lucas has called 'the most original and funny and touching and interesting young playwright out there at this moment.' The production will be directed by Porter's collaborator, NYC director Tara Ahmadinejad, and features original music by composer Andrew Lynch.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces full casting for James Macdonald's new revival of William Congreve's Restoration comedy masterpiece The Way of The World. Haydn Gwynne will be playing the role of Lady Wishfort, replacing Linda Bassett who has sadly had to withdraw from the production before the start of rehearsals for personal reasons.

In honor of Black History Month, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) and Broadway in New Orleans have partnered together to give 30 McMain High School students an exclusive opportunity to hear a reading of Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel THE COLOR PURPLE from cast members of the Tony Award-winning Broadway show. Students will have the opportunity to ask cast members questions about the show, storyline and their professional backgrounds. Presented by the New Orleans Theatre Association, THE COLOR PURPLE is part of the East Jefferson General Hospital Broadway in New Orleans 2017 - 2018 season and will play at the Saenger Theatre Feb. 20-25.

Damian Woetzel continues his innovative interdisciplinary series uniting artists from across fields in a special one-night only performance, March 7 in the Terrace Theater. Part of the inaugural DIRECT CURRENT, the Kennedy Center's two-week celebration of contemporary culture, this installment of the multi-genre series will present recently commissioned works, including a world premiere, and Washington, D.C. premieres by some of today's most creative and groundbreaking voices in dance and music.

WP Theater and The Bushwick Starr, in association with New Georges, are pleased to announce that due to popular demand, [PORTO], the upside-down romantic comedy written by Obie Award Winner Kate Benson (Super Magic Wild Forest, Desert) and directed by Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans (Bull in a China Shop, Caught), will extend. Previously scheduled through February 25,[PORTO] will now play its final performance on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at WP Theater (2162 Broadway).
