A 40th Anniversary reunion benefit concert of the 1979 hit Broadway production of They're Playing Our Song will be held on Monday, February 11th at 7:30 pm at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th St.) and will star the Broadway cast members Lucie Arnaz as 'Sonia Walsk' and Robert Klein as 'Vernon Gersch'.

The Specials, one of the most electrifying, influential and important bands of all time, have just released their new album Encore, their first new music in 37 years via Island Records. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the formation of The Specials and the legendary Two-Tone label in Coventry in 1979, and also marks 10 years since the band reformed to play some of the most vital and joyous live shows in recent memory.

The award-winning, autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET, starring Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor, will kick off a national tour this spring with three performances at The Gateway, Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County (215 South Country Road, Bellport, NY 11713) on Friday, March 15 at 8pm and Saturday, March 16 at 3pm & 8pm. The Colorado Music Festival today announced the appointment of conductor Peter Oundjian as its next Music Director. He is the fourth person to hold this title in the 42-year history of the festival, which is held for six weeks each year at the Colorado Chautauqua, a National Historic Landmark at the foot of the rugged Flatirons. Mr. Oundjian led the 2018 festival as Artistic Advisor, and his appointment as Music Director was announced along with the festival's 2019 season, which runs from June 27 to August 3 and explores the legacy of Beethoven.

Many of us remember Bob Marley's introduction of reggae to the world, and his great success with this style of music. Since his passing in 1981, several of his children have had their own successes, including Cedella, his oldest child, who wrote a children's book , which has now become a stage musical, Bob Marley's Three Little Birds and which will be presented by Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta from Feb. 1-24.

After years out of print, Rickie Lee Jones' first two albums will be available on LP. Rickie's self-titled debut album and the lauded follow up Pirates were re-released digitally and on CD via AWAL Recordings in the latter half of 2018. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and American Cinematheque will celebrate the best in international cinema with the2019 Golden Globe Foreign-Language Nominees Screening Series and Symposium. The screening series will take place January 1-4, 2019 at the Aero Theatre, with the Symposium on January 5 at the Egyptian Theatre, featuring a panel with the directors of the nominated films in the Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language category.

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the world premiere of WHITE NOISE, written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. 

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler announced the cast of the second production of its 2018-19 Season: Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production runs February 27 through March 10 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University presents the first major retrospective of eminent American artist, curator, and teacher Howardena Pindell, who for nearly five decades has explored the intersection of art and activism. 

The Orleans Hotel and Casino will kick off the new year bringing top entertainment to The Orleans Showroom in January, including performances by rock bands Arch Allies, April Wine and Steelheart, and Loverboy, as well as celebrated pianist Ryan Ahern. January entertainment will also feature free live entertainment at Bourbon Street Lounge throughout the month.

The historic Drexel Theatre today announced the lineup for its 2019 America's Greatest Films series, made possible through a generous gift from PNC Bank.
