The End of Lear: Four Kings is a one-act adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear that depicts the original text from Lear's perspective. Four Seattle actors simultaneously unearth the varied facets of the Shakespearean king, including his cruelty toward loved ones, his anxiety about perception, and his tendency to treat the world as a stage for his personal drama. The piece is part of Baker Theater Workshop's ongoing dramatic explorations of King Lear. The staged reading is directed by Peter Temes and features actors Peter C. Cook, David S. Klein, Hester Elwell, Raine Hoover, Ken Knight, and John Dugaw.
