Seattle Artists’ Brilliance Shines for Freehold

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

SEATTLE, WA – Outstanding performances by some of Seattle’s most talented actors, directors and playwrights will be the highlight of this always popular once a year Freehold Faculty Showcase and Benefit. Freehold’s Faculty includes some of the most highly acclaimed artists in the northwest. Our faculty consists of working professional actors, playwrights and directors whose credentials include recognized work on and off Broadway, in major motion pictures, on television, and in regional and international theatre venues.

The Faculty Showcase and Benefit line-up includes TheFilmSchool co-founder John Jacobsen, Amy Thone and Hans Altwies (Gregory Award Winners), Daemond Arrindell (Seattle Slam Master and producer of The Seattle Poetry Slam), Meg McLynn, Christine Marie Brown, Gin Hammond (Helen Hayes Award Winner), Paul Mullin (Stranger Genius Award Winner), Robin Lynn Smith (Gregory A. Falls Award Winner) plus some additional surprise guests. This is a unique Seattle opportunity to see these talented artists all together on one stage for one evening.

The evening will feature the gifts of these accomplished actors, playwrights, and musicians who will share their exemplary acting talents and musicianship via scenes, one-act plays and musical accompaniment. Performances will include a short film by John Jacobsen featuring Hans Altwies and Amy Thone, spoken word from Daemond Arrindell, original scene work from playwright Paul Mullin featuring several of Freehold’s faculty including Gin Hammond, Christine Marie Brown and Amy Thone, alluring musical tunes by Meg McLynn and more surprises. Guests will also be treated to silent auction items ideal for the budding actor, door prizes and hearty appetizers.

For over 20 years, Freehold Theare Lab/Studio has been a highly acclaimed center for the practice of theatre led by Artistic Director and Freehold Founding Partner, Robin Lynn Smith. Freehold’s Studio provides a place for actors, from inspired novices to working professionals, to train. In addition, Freehold’s Theatre Lab provides a forum for mature artists to research and develop new work and to re-interpret classics. The faculty at Freehold, whether as instructors or artists, are committed to developing work that showcases artists whose aim is to develop an actor's greatest gift, “a sense of truth.” Donations from this event allow Freehold to keep classes affordable for everyone and to offer a Diversity Scholarship.

Join us at this delightful event where you will be dazzled by our profoundly accomplished performing artists.
