Spotlight: Delightful BAREFOOT IN THE PARK Now Playing in Seattle
A Neil Simon Classic in Olympia, WA
Neil Simon's Tony Award-winning comedy Barefoot in the Park is now playing at Harlequin Productions in Olympia, WA through September 6.Get tickets today for this delightful production, a co-production with Taproot Theatre Company.
The story follows newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter—he a straight-laced lawyer, she a free spirit chasing thrills—as they navigate their sixth-floor Manhattan walk-up with its leaking pipes and crumbling plaster. When Corie's eccentric mother and their quirky neighbor Velasco crash into their domestic scene, romantic bliss turns into hilarious chaos. Only a barefoot sprint through Washington Square can save their marriage.
Featuring Kate Anders as Corie, Christian Bolduc as Paul, Kim Holm as Ethel Banks, Russ Holm as Victor Velasco, and Andy Gordon as the Telephone Repair Man, this production captures the smart, snappy wit that made Simon's 1963 Broadway original a smash hit—running for 1,530 performances and becoming one of the ten longest-running plays in Broadway history. The New York Times called it "a bubbling, rib-tickling comedy."
Barefoot in the Park runs through September 6 at Harlequin Productions, 202 4th Ave E, Olympia, WA 98501. Learn more or call 360-786-0151.
