Seattle Public Theater Partners with Local Charities to Give Away a House Worth of Tickets

By:

This December, Seattle Public Theater (SPT) has partnered with four Seattle charities-Treehouse, FamilyWorks, Path With Art, and Gilda's Club - to distribute a house's worth of tickets to people in need. Foster children, cancer patients, and those families living on The Edge can enjoy a performance at the Bathhouse of Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! To revitalize the tradition of an end-of-year appeal for charitable giving, Seattle Public Theater is asking our community to give the gift of theater to people who need it most this holiday season. Donations are being solicited to cover the cost of providing these tickets to clients of Seattle Public Theater's partner charities.

Seattle Public Theater, located in the historic Bathhouse Theater on Green Lake, is committed to creating powerful, professional, intimate theater and dynamic theater programs for youth. "We are so pleased to be able to give back to the community," said SPT Managing Director Zoe Alexis Scott. "We have enormous support from families, kids and community members all year long. To encourage gifts to bring the thrill of theater to others ... that's a big part of what we do." The Best Christmas Pageant Ever runs December 6 through 24. For information on the show and how to donate to the We're Giving Away a House holiday drive, visit us online at www.seattlepublictheater.org or call the box office at (206) 524-1300. ABOUT THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER-To everyone's shock and awe, the Herdman kids hijack the annual church Christmas Pageant. Chaos escalates as the festivities are turned upside down and the kids ultimately challenge everyone's traditional notions of Christmas. For young and old alike, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever has become a holiday family tradition at SPT and is not to be missed.

Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is a mid-size, 501 (c) (3) non-profit professional theater on the shores of Green Lake. Specializing in main stage theater and youth theater education, SPT is dedicated to inspiring community through intimate, powerful professional theater and dynamic education programs.
