Macha Monkey Productions Hosts Season Kick-Off Party Tonight
Join Macha Monkey tonight, September 21st at Seattle Repertory Theatre to celebrate their upcoming season, see excerpts from two, world premiere productions, drink lots of wine, and join them in a paddle raise to keep Macha Monkey strong for the next 12 years.
Emcee'd by fabulous local talents Kate Jaeger and Bret Fetzer, Macha Monkey presents snapshots of the season to come, many laughs, and lots to eat and drink. What's in store for the Monkey's this year?
Two, world premiere, fully produced plays by three local playwrights!
This year Macha will present two plays developed in workshop y over the past two years. Buckshot by Courtney Meaker, directed by Peggy Gannon, will premiere at the Cornish Playhouse (formerly INTIMAN) blackbox space on November 8th. Run dates November 8th - November 23rd.
Lollyville by Bret Fetzer and Juliet Waller-Pruzan, directed by Kristina Sutherland, will premiere at the Richard Hugo House in the spring of 2014. Full run dates to be announced at the party.

Ever wanted to see how kids interpret the history of Egypt? Or, how they came to understand the explorer Balboa? Monkey Works teaching artists work with elementary classrooms around Puget Sound, combining social studies with playwriting to create world premiere plays.
And one new play-in-progress, The Dinner Party by local playwright and Artistic Director of Macha Monkey, Kristina Sutherland!
Macha will be working with Kristina on a brand new play to receive a full-length production in the fall of 2014.
