The Woodcutter is a one-man show written and performed by John Anthony Gorman, directed by Mickele Hogan and produced by Lifewise Productions. Returning from the USA to clear out his childhood home in Glasgow, Gorman reflects on his upbringing and his parents, who ran The Woodcutter pub in Motherwell for half a century. The show blends laughter and sadness as Gorman recalls key family moments, including serving his terminally ill father a final Guinness and the revelation of his plans to move to the US. The performance explores themes of grief, memory, and what truly makes a home.
