Chris Cantrill Will Return to Edinburgh Fringe With REWILDING
REWILDING, directed by Tom Parry, runs at Monkey Barrel (The Tron) as follow-up to EASILY SWAYED
Three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Chris Cantrill (SNL UK, Icklewick FM) returns with the follow-up to 2024's critically acclaimed, sold-out Easily Swayed.
The hotly anticipated Rewilding tells the story of a rural borderlands community, an act of vandalism and the outsider who's determined to make it all about him.
Having embraced village life, Chris is happy to see out his days whittling, signing for packages and glaring at passing hikers. But when a beloved local tree is cut down in the dead of night, he's drawn into a mystery that reveals a far darker side to his idyllic surroundings ...
Rewilding is a show for people who are passionate about community and keeping a very close eye on their neighbours.
Directed by Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated Tom Parry, Rewinding runs at Monkey Barrel (The Tron) between 3rd-30th August.
Chris Cantrill is a three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated comedian, writer and actor from West Yorkshire. Known for an enviable gag-rate mixing quick-fire jokes with uniquely offbeat observations about modern life, he's developed a reputation as "one of the most charmingly, daftly funny comics on the scene right now" (The Times).
Since making his television debut on Harry Hill's ClubNite (Channel 4), Chris has become a regular on television and radio. He's appeared in shows such as the BAFTA-winning Alma's Not Normal (BBC 2), Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (Channel 4) and he provided voices for the BAFTA-winning videogame Thank Goodness You're Here.
In February 2026, Chris was announced as one of the writing team of SNL UK, writing a number of memorable sketches, including the infamous "skin to skin" Weekend Update Feature with Al Nash and George Fouracres. Chris has also written for the likes of Dave, Channel 4, BBC Radio 2, CBeebies and CBBC.
As half of the acclaimed double act The Delightful Sausage, Chris has been twice-nominated for the 'Best Show' at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (2019 and 2022). Chris and Amy have appeared on shows such as Question Team (Dave), Pointless (BBC One), and as series regulars for Late Night Mash (Dave). Chris is also the co-creator and star of BBC Radio 4's breakout comedy, Icklewick FM, which the Radio Times called "one of the best comedies of 2024" and won him a BBC Audio Award for Best Comedy Performance.
Since 2020, Chris has lived in a small rural village on the border between Cumbria and Northumberland, a short distance from Sycamore Gap. Rewilding will tour later this year.
