The Day the Circus Came to Town is a world premiere musical celebrating the centennial of John Ringling moving his circus to Sarasota. Created by Peter Rothstein, Carla Noack, and David Darrow, the show draws inspiration from real-life stories of circus legends who captured the nation’s imagination. With music and lyrics by David Darrow, it features a cast of actors, acrobats, and aerialists, along with a singing Ringmaster, offering a nostalgic look at the circus community's vibrant history. Directed by Peter Rothstein, this production not only highlights the spirit of Sarasota but also provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life under the big top.
