Newsies Jr. is a high-energy musical inspired by the true story of the Newsboys Strike of 1899, featuring memorable songs, dynamic choreography, and a message of courage, determination, and teamwork. The production is presented by the Florida Cultural Group Education Department in collaboration with The Pops Orchestra as part of the 'Camping with The Pops: It's the Pits!' summer music camp. Middle school and high school band and orchestra musicians perform as the live pit orchestra alongside young singers, actors, and dancers. The week-long camp culminates in two public performances on Friday, July 17 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 AM.
