The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much revived classic is the unusual story of fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his clever and insistent late first wife, Elvira. She has been accidentally called up by a visiting medium, the wildly eccentric Madame Arcati. As the worldly and un-worldly personalities clash, Charles’ current wife Ruth is accidentally killed, “passes over” and joins Elvira, leaving the two “blithe spirits” to haunt the hapless Charles into perpuity.
