Theatre Group at SBCC Presents Grand Opening of New Facility, 4/15

Following the completion of the modernization of the Drama Music Complex and Garvin Theatre at SBCC, The Theatre Group at SBCC and the SBCC Music Department will hold an open house with guided tours of the facility on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 4-6pm.

Guided tours with docents from the Music and Theatre Arts Department will begin in the Garvin Theatre lobby. Tour participants will get to see the upgrades to the Theatre including the audience chamber, the stage, control booths, renovated practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, costume studio, scenic studio, recording studio and Jurkowitz Theatre. Last tour will depart at 5:30pm. The tours are free and do not require a reservation. Parking is free and near the theatre on SBCC’s West Campus, 900 block of Cliff Dr.

Beginning at the end of April, performances will start for both the Theatre Group at SBCC and the Music Department. The Theatre Group at SBCC will present THROUGH THE FIRE, a theatrical documentary, April 25-May 12 in the Jurkowitz Theatre, and the Music Department will present Music Now! Concert - April 29, SBCC Concert Band - May 6 and SBCC Jazz Ensembles-May 7 in the Garvin Theatre.
