Photo Flash: First Look - Promo Shots for PCPA's SPAMALOT, Running 7/13-8/10

Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is the fresh Broadway hit and irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend. It was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning three, including Best New Musical for 2005. During its initial run, it was seen by more than two million people. Check out a first look at PCPA's production below!

In addition to its run on Broadway and UK's West End along with three North American tours, Spamalot has played to enthusiastic audiences in Australia, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Norway, and Poland.

Directed by Michael Barnard, Artistic Director of Phoenix Theatre since 1999, Mr. Barnard has over 500 productions to his credit from New York to Los Angeles. For PCPA he has directed and/or choreographed Tommy, Cabaret, Damn Yankees, Forever Plaid, Barnum, West Side Story, Sophisticated Ladies, Evita, and Fiddler on the Roof.

Leading the quest is King Arthur (Joseph Cannon) with his trusty servant Patsy (Billy Breed). Playing his gallant knights - and a broad assortment of other characters - are Erik Stein* as Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Michael Jenkinson* as Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, George Walker as Sir Galahad, the Dashingly Handsome, Leo Cortez as Sir Bedevere, the Strangely Flatulent, and Karin Hendricks as The Lady of the Lake.

SPAMALOT plays the Solvang Festival Theater from July 13 - August 10. Tickets are $36.50 with discounts for students, children, seniors, and preview performances July 13, 14, & 16.
