The Interestings, a new musical based on Meg Wolitzer's bestselling novel, will have its world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in early 2027. Directed by Michael Arden, the show features music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, with a book co-written by Wolitzer and Sarah Ruhl. The story follows six friends who share a passion for creativity and reflects on the evolution of their relationships from adolescence in the 1970s to adulthood in New York City, exploring themes of friendship, love, and ambition.
